Am I the only one who's not happy he's back?

Unlikely, there are plenty of Barnes haters who probably feel the same. He gives us another option up front, how can that not be a good thing considering that we haven't got any experienced forwards other than Ulloa? It's bizarre not to be pleased about it imo

If it is written for anyone to shoot us to the Premier League it is Ashley Barnes. No doubt the Barnes haters will find something wrong with the goals if he does.

There are occasions when Ulloa doesn't half look lonesome, so a return of the renegade will offer a different, and somewhat tetchy, physical presence up front when required. I'm pleased.

It's a fair point about back up for Ulloa, I just don't want him walking back into the starting line up!

Ha. That would be SOME story!

No way surely. He hasn't played for 7 games so will be rusty. I imagine he will only be used off of the bench for the next few games. Maybe start the Wolves game.

Sounds like you found him in bed with your lover and you need him to earn your trust again, forbidding him to immediately slither back into your hammock of affection. Probably time to forgive and forget, innit.

I am no Barnes-hater - but I am not sure he deserves to wear the stripes again. He has shown himself to be an idiot with limited ability to appreciate the irrelevance of his own petulance set against what is good for his team-mates, the club, and the supporters. If the club told him to clear off I would be fully in support.

Probably. Myself - I will be cheering as loud as the next person when he knocks in the winner against Blackpool, but it does not change the fact he is an idiot and a liability.

He can forget throwing himself to the floor with the regularity he has. The refs will be giving him nothing. Strangely enough it may actually do his game some good.

I was one of his biggest fans, and certainly in "Team "Ashley" rather than "Team CMS". However, I tend to agree with you, and the fact he is likely to walk straight back into the First Team match day Squad is really unfair. There again, we cannot afford to not use the guy as we failed to get a loan replacement, and let the House Elf go to the Scum.

I think we have to accept him for what he is. We won't have him on Mastermind - specialist round naming all the 17 ants in his antfarm - but even as our village idiot he is obedient, a vital feature i think, and fights for our cause, sometimes to an extreme extent that has of course it's bloody downside. On his day, which is perhaps 1 in 4 games, his touch is great and his positional sense excellent, and you can rely on him to put in a shift.
He's not a calculated betrayer.

Glad he's back, OK he might not be the most technically gifted or intelligent players but he knows where the goal is, where he needs to be to score a goal and has a tenacity (that comes with a certain petulance) some of our other more gited players lack. We could have certainly done with his bite in the few draws we had.

Pleased to see Barnes back especially to give us cover for Ulloa. We have been walking a tightrope lately given our shortage of available experienced strikers. Everytime Ulloa gets clattered (i.e. a lot) I fear we are going to lose him to an injury. Plus he is gradually attracting yellow cards. So having a relatively experienced option like Barnes is a relief.

I tend to agree that before the end of the season Barnes may write the headlines for the right reasons. That would the best way for him to be forgiven by most punters for his stupidity at Bolton.

Bolton? I am still pissed off with him at Wednesday's stupidity.
