Barnes needs to show some respect to the supporters and fans who pay his wages and show some maturity on the field if he wishes to be respected in return. To act as he did when we were losing a game and desperately short of strikers shows a complete lack of concern for the club's needs, which is difficult to excuse.

Completely agree, he does need to show respect to the fans, and the club, there are no excuses for his behaviour that day.

He'll get an 8 match ban. He'll come on as sub in the last game, score the winning goal, catapaulting us into the playoffs at the expense of palace and you lot will all be lauding him all summer as "the one and only Ashley Barnes, Blue and white through and through, our hero"

Then pam will get out of bed and find Bobby in the shower.

Sorry, he's a complete f**kwit and deserves to have the bloody book thrown at him by the FA and the club. Enough is enough.

Yet another thread bringing out the dregs of NSC

Barnes should be accountable for his actions, whether at Bolton or the reckless lunge he did at Sheff Weds. There is too much collateral damage from his indiscipline.

The frustrating thing about the Bolton game is that we had a precious 4 minutes injury time to snatch an equaliser in a passage of play that was almost all Albion pressure on the Bolton defence. Yes Barnes felt he had been clattered during the previous move and clearly felt aggrieved but looking at the bigger picture the Ref allowed play to continue so Barnes should have just got on with trying to help his team get that elusive goal. Barnes is a professional and could take a leaf out of Ulloa's book - Leo receives a lot of rough stuff from opposing players but isn't petulant (for an Argie!). It's not rocket science.

While Barnes is clearly a marmite player his actions should be considered in the wider context of the game where assaults of the match officials can not bw tolerated. Whether contact was made is irrelevant the intent was present. If proven then he deserves whatever punishment the FA hand down. The next consideration is for the Albion and whether a player who is banned for 7 or 8 games a season is worth continuing with. No doubt supportive words will follow but if a de ent offer was received during the summer I assume that it is more likely to be accepted now.

Can't worry about end of season stay or go yet. All fans should want one of our forwards back for the run-in. This is serious. You can tell by Barnes' body language with the ref that he didn't mean any harm by whatever he did, and didn't expect any punishment, probably just a turn and grin. But we don't get that sort of ref do we. We need to get behind Barnsey, Rooney was as bad and got himself sorted, so Ash can do the same.

Big fine is nothing more than he deserves.

Did it once, learnt nothing, and did exactly the same thing a few weeks later. Anyone in any other job would be fired. He's cost us big time.
