Sussex, by the sea
we're in for a rough ride this next month, which we all knew, entering it in free fall is not a good starting point.

We have flattered to deceive and got lucky. The tactic of trying to walk it in is frustrating . . . .especially as we have no alternative.

Based on recent form we'll do well to get to 40 points.

Who is the attacking coach? Whoever it is needs to be sacked because we are utter dog shite at getting shots on target. Week in week out we have loads of efforts but hardly any on target. Its been going on season after season. Defenders don't chip in enough, midfielders should be getting way more and the strikers seem better suited for rugby conversions. Yes the players are ultimately responsible but the coach must take a fair bit of the blame. Anyone else who was in charge of staff in a work place that performed their job so badly would be down the job center.

Do teams at this level even have a shooting coach? You'd think they would have learnt that bit by now.

I think the issue is more shot selection and decision making as well as mind set and confidence.

He’s never been part of the youth development team and yes he is the attacking coach. There was an interview when Bjorn was standing in for Graham, as GP have covid, and Bjorn said it then.

His official role was "Player Development Coach" when retained, though he's not on the official site under "Football Staff" at all. Certianly not as attacking coach.

My assumption is that we don't have one. If we do it certainly shouldn't be Bruno.

I dunno man, this is quite a tricky one to wriggle out of as there’s enough factual evidence from the club’s coaching staff who literally say Bruno looks after the attacking.

My God you're tiresome.

As if making the Ukraine thread all about yourself isn't bad enough you've thrown in a "joke" about an Albion legend in the middle of the night just to stir the pot.

How's the maths revision coming along?

Shall we wait for your apology?

This is from Billy Reid's press conference for the Leicester game

I missed the Tweet. So, it does seem you were being serious Swansman and you do have my sincere apology on this count.

But let's now tidy this up.

1) I thought he was taking the piss because it makes about as much sense as having Glenn Murray coaching the full backs and

2) Dealing with the attacking in a collaborative team is not the same as having a specialist attacking coach, which is what the OP asked.

So it being Bruno may be a fact but it isn't a good thing.

It may be a while coming. Hopefully due to the fact the protagonist is quietly reflecting on his own piety and how he jumps on a certain poster that actively (predominantly) contributes positively to this board.

Edit - Was a bit late on this one - just seen Guinness Boy’s response. 👍

Some of my point still stands though…

Billy Reid “Bruno deals with attacking stuff”. He’s wrong as well as Swanny then.

Or, perhaps, I apologised in the post before yours

Something we can all agree on, it seems bonkers.

I think it’s very simplistic to say “but he was a fullback” - coaching doesn’t have to be directly linked to what you did as a player, some great coaches didn’t make it as players. Besides, defenders probably do make good attacking coaches and attackers vice versa - I suspect Murray would make an excellent defensive coach because it was defences he tried to beat his whole career.

Indeed. We both appear to be a bit late to this party. See edit above when I saw your response.

As edit says maybe some of my point still stands regarding the way you jump on Swansman. It is somewhat noticeable…

I have to say that the pre-match warm up drill of one-on-ones doesn't exactly instil a great deal of confidence.

I think that since he has been out injured Mwepu's stock has risen. He seems to have a goal in him and the midfielder most likely to score from the edge of the box.

In this instance I both owe and mean the apology. I genuinely thought he'd said the most outrageous thing he could think of. Ironically because that's exactly what he was doing on the Ukraine thread, which I laid off in case it needs moderating.

Yes. In theory.

However it is an empirical fact that Bruno, whist being a brilliant defender, is an absolute shite attacking coach (if he is and has been for a while). 1 shot on target vs Villa at home, which was a lame effort, shows his effectiveness. Imo of course.
