We're briefly going to Barcelona in Sept and want to watch a bit of the Americas Cup from the water.

Do any locals know how we'd find someone who takes people out for this type of thing?

I've looked online and nothing obvious at the moment.

I'm off for my first trip to Barcelona in October and couldn't work out why hotels were a little bit more that month. Now I know why.

Absolutely this and on the Metro.

If you want somewhere decent to eat at reasonable price, I highly recommend the open air market (Mercat de la Boqueria) which is about half way down Las Ramblas on the right heading towards the sea. Got some fantastic food stalls there, especially all the fish dishes, and the prices are reasonable for Barcelona centre.

It's like when I was looking up flights to Nice for a little break earlier this year, wondered why flights were £300 each.

It was the weekend of the Monaco Grand Prix lmao.

I go to Barcelona once a year and always have my breakfast at Bar Quiosc Modern. If you enter from La Ramblas it’s in the middle of the market, slightly off to the top right. It’s basic, not as bright and colourful as the stalls near the entrance, but good and I like it.

I often grab some oysters with Tabasco from the wet fish area….especially if hung over.

Other places I’d recommend are Cal Pep, this is the original restaurant the London micro-chain Barrafina based their Tapas bars on. Arrive 20 mins before opening to ensure a place at the bar, oysters and cava to start, ask them to recommend a couple of dishes to kick things off then just watch what gets cooked in front of you and point at and ask for things you like the look of…this is what I do.

I also love El Vaso De Ora, an old school tapas tavern. Their speciality is Solomillo con foie, steak with Foie gras and caramelised onions.

If craft beer is your bag then Garage Beer Co is a must.

oh, and don’t forget Can Vilaro…a small offal cafe near San Antonio market. Battered Lambs brains and the lamb head and foot stew are my recommendations.
