Fair play to Inter, they did what they had to and deserve to go through.

I want him back in English football. Not at Liverpool though, as I'd have to start disliking him.

No thanks. He can stay away - how anyone can like that obnoxious, arrogant man is beyond me.

Hate Mourinho, when he was at Chelsea he moaned about teams parking the bus in front of the goal. Barca were shite though

All credit to Mourinho, he really is a bloody good manager.

That was a defensive masterclass and he sees his team through to another Champions League final.

You really can't argue with his record.

He hasn't been beaten at home with any of his clubs for 135 games!!

Goal proven (if thats what you call that technology) onside. Just to write that one off.

Raising hand to face = red card or at best a yellow, either way he deserved to get sent off.

Offside goal = not sure it was even offside and anyway that's the linesmans decision not Barca's

You could say Barca are the ones cheated due to the disallowed goal...

but carry on :dunce:

Raising a hand to he face is a yellow or red, but he raised his arm to protect his area, the player went into it and then made a big deal over the contact, without such play acting most referees would not bother with a card because the player ran into the outstretched arm, and there was barely any contact.

Looking at the replay they just showed - any part of your body you can score with closer to the goal than all bar one opposing player = offside. His backside was ahead of the defenders foot, and since you can score with your bum, he was, according to the rules offside.

And if your argument against the offside was that the linesman should have given it, then we can't blame players for any rule infringement, we have to blame the officials, which is frankly ridiculous. They were offside, and accepted the goal that came from it.

The barca player's hand made contact with the ball. According to the laws of the game it has to be deliberate, but generally it is accepted that is an advantage is gained it is frequently given. I'd say a goal would be a mighty gained advantage from that, wouldn't you?

I enjoyed that. I thought it was a master class in defending and say what you like about Mourinho, he's a winner. He wants to come back to English football and he'll liven the PL up.

He must hate Brighton too for cheating as I'm sure we've scored an offside goal before

I think I have seen Brighton do everything we saw tonight:

diving, feigning excessive injury, faking injuries again and again, timewasting, scoring offside goals, frivalous appeals, etc...

I'd say in the 2nd half Inter certainly got at least the balance for the slightly unfair red card. But hey, Barca looked clueless at breaking them down.

Not really. As I just posted, if any part of your body with which you can score is ahead of the defenders, you are offside. Looking at that replay, his backside (a part of his body with which it is legal to score) was ahead of the defenders foot. It was off side.

Different goal. A few on here were stating (or suggesting) that Barca's goal (the one that was allowed) was off.
