It’s never worth burning bridges in what is essentially a fairly tight industry (at the top level). Every chance they might end up working together again at some point.

Also we hired Potter, extended his contract, and stuck with him through two seasons of totally average results. We’re hardly likely to say “actually RDZ has got 20% more out of this squad and Graham’s going to be dropping multi millionaires with egos the size of Sweden every week” even though that’s the reality.

Finally proof that the lizard doesn’t hold these giant football clubs by the balls. People have put blooms pokers skills on a pedestal for far too long they should focus on what he actually does do which is support us financially.

When it comes to negotiating with these clubs it’s been barber, weir and ashworth and they deserve the credit for this. Tony simply gives the approval. He’s wonderful but don’t keep pretending that’s he’s pulling all the strings.

When it comes to negotiating with these clubs it’s been barber, weir and ashworth and they deserve the credit for this. Tony simply gives the approval. He’s wonderful but don’t keep pretending that’s he’s pulling all the strings.

Although Arsenal said Bloom personally dealt with the BW Sale and was a nightmare to deal with. I take everything with a pinch of salt when it comes to football clubs/players transfers.

He says Bloom has input and briefs them on his expectations re: fee but he or Weir deal with the actual negotiations. Seems pretty straightforward- why do you think it’s said in bad faith ?

Partly. Perhaps I should have phrased it better: is he choosing his own successor or is that Tony Bloom's domain? That's the real question.

I suspect PB has lengthy conversations with TB to discuss strategies.
