As Gus said in the summer, when Barber arrived he predicted it would take him two years to undo all the good work he (Gus) previously did
Nothing bad has happened - yet. But if i entrusted someone with one of my businesses and it found itself returning worse results each year I'd be calling them in for a little word.
Sorry, but bollocks, bollocks and bollocks.
He is CEO - Chief Executive Officer. Not CFO. Not Marketing Director. In charge. Of the whole club. If his making a profit leads to us going down the club is f***ed and he would be the one to go. I'm sure he knows that.
Small point, the business hasn't returned worse results each year. On the pitch we've made the play offs two years on the trot - an improvement on the 10th the season before. Off the pitch losses have become less and revenue has increased.
Well done for jumping to several conclusions at once.
Tony Bloom is paying Paul Barber handsomely - very handsomely - to run his football club for him. Performance on the field is therefore part of his remit.
Believe it or not TB has more going on than Brighton and Hove Albion FC and therefore employs someone else to run it for him. If something bad happens to the club on Barber's watch then he'll be held accountable and no mistake.

Isn't the main focus that under Barber's watch, revenue has increased slightly, but our losses at 8m and 14.8 m have eaten that up and spiraled out of control. I have recently had to contact him regarding an issue and although he was quick to respond he lacked credibility and I have little doubt that he is selfsurving.
Barber is a top Premier League Chief Executive in waiting, IMHO.
Why do so many on here feel that because we have a shiny new stadium we are suddenly going to be competing with the likes of Arsenal

You assume that i think that this has happened. It hasn't. But it might.
Don't forget first and foremost we are a FOOTBALL CLUB!
Someone is selling Tony 'the Emperors New Clothes', its probably him, they all get found out in the end. Its about the football, the results and pleasing the fans, 'customers'. Its not about, £96 meals, being a 'Friend of the Albion', the programme, the pies ( if you can get one), the Academy, the website, replica shirts or £6.80 for brandy and lemonade. Don't forget first and foremost we are a FOOTBALL CLUB!
I have said before Barber doesn't seem to fully understand the value of good will and it's benefit during down turns. He's alienated too many with his simplistic price increases; anyone can jack up prices during the good times. It looks like we're heading for a lean on-pitch period and we will see a sharp decline in income as a result. Maybe Bloom will see this a get shot of him.
How much of his job is to with the team?
Surely his remit is only the commercial side......
Fair enough. GP has proven himself to be a trustworthy character.
"All the good work." Can you remind me how much money we lost in the last finanical year again?
