"Mr Barber. Please close your laptop. We appear to be holed below the waterline."
"Aye Aye, Capt. Bloom."
Burke has signed them although I think it's almost impossible to sign players of a sufficient quality on the budget we have. Even the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford have signed a lot better players than us.
at last someone blaming those at fault, but unfortunately Sami will be the fall guy
How is Barber at fault, he runs the commercial aspects of the club not the footballing side. If we don't have the budget for the Championship then we just have to accept it might be a struggle from now on it. However, Barber can only do so much to balance the accounts.
and collected 10m for Leo .........and we have not replaced him ................who the **** made that decision ,not Sami
Barber sets the playing budget in line with the financial requirements we need to meet as likely dictated by Tony Bloom.
Burke signs the players and Hyppia is mean to manage/coach the players.
It was Burke who identified the players and Hyppia who agreed with the signing of those players.
So blaming Barber is very unfair as he is working within the remit of Tony Bloom, it is up to Burke and Hyppia to use that budget to provide us with a competitive team for the top half of the Championship. If the budget isn't sufficient for them to be able to do that then there are deeper issues at the Football club.
Lickers. Definitely lickers. The manager, recruitment team and first team are falling well short of all reasonable expectations. Blindly supporting failure is not the way forward.[/QUOTE
Bee-Dubs - its the chuffing tactics - this team IS good enough for mid table in my opinion. I agree that we have been left short on the recruitment front, but have also seen the the acccounts for the past few years.......see the wage bill for 2012/2013.....its eye watering.

Paul Barber: He Came, He Saw, He Failed
"As far as AFTN is concerned, he'll not be missed."
"His appointment caused a lot of excitement. We were getting a guy from Tottenham Hotspur."
"Barber and footballing success don't seem to go hand in hand."
"Barber often came across to us being so full of hot air that we often checked his shoes to see if they were tethered to the ground to stop him floating away. All mouth and no trousers, as the English expression would have it."
"He was the master of spin, no doubt instilled in him from his career in public relations, media relations and communications. He clearly missed out on what I'm sure would have been a very successful career in politics."
"He brought in an amazing amount of sponsors and money to the Club. He helped establish a 15,000+ season ticket base and helped the Club make two tricky, but smooth, transitions to two new stadiums in one season. He was also good at replying personally, and quickly, to fan emails. We sincerely applaud him for all of that."
"He helped bring false expectations amongst the fanbase that the Whitecaps were not an ordinary expansion team and his pre-season comments made many fans expect instant success."
"The buck stops with him for all of the farcical ticketing problems this season, particularly the Uniglobe fiasco, where it can be argued he put corporate sponsors before fan interests."
"In fact, he hasn't delivered much at all, from our viewpoint.""
"Ultimately, Paul Barber will be remembered by AFTN as a cocky character who talked the talk, but didn't walk the walk, overseeing the worst season in Vancouver Whitecaps FC history. A nice legacy to leave behind."
"What does the future hold in store for Paul Barber? Where in football will it take him?.We certainly wouldn't be surprised if he makes the move to MLS Front Office and takes on some kind of role there. I personally think it would be a disaster for the League if he did."

It doesn't matter whether it's in a match thread or one of Ernest's ramblings, it sounds remarkably close to what we're experiencing now. You may not agree but it doesn't mean you have to start insulting people.WTF has this got to do with a match thread? Some bitter Whitecaps fan..... What a bell end of the highest order you are!
So a few disgruntled fans on a message board have a go at him! It may be this is just one fan who get left out in the 'Uniglobe fiasco'. He isn't going to be everybodies friend but it can't be denied that without him, we would probably be in a bigger financial mess!!
As for posting this, what's it got to do with the match?

Hello ........ Didn't know we had thread police! This isn't the thread for the Barbers haters to post their shite.........anyway the game is back on...
