There's a difference between the team being genuinely asset stripped and the ground sold, and the whole game being sold down the river to line the pockets of a tiny group of individuals.

We (Brighton) were playing for our very survival as a club - these clubs will be playing to validate the whole game being rigged. The situations aren't the same.

It's hypocrisy (or possibly just misguided) to complain about an owner profiting off the success of the team or sportwashing while still paying to attend. If you just don't like them in general or for some other reason then it's not hypocritical.

I would argue the underlying principle is exactly the same. It is criticising the owners.

I think it’s a bit rich that fans of our club are criticising fans of other clubs for doing pretty much exactly the same thing as we did. Pretty selective thinking to argue otherwise.

A banner would be great but even better would be a coordinated campaign across all the clubs / fixtures. Maybe every fan could hold up a red card or something. I’m sure someone will think of something, but it needs to be directed at the club owners. Many fans of these clubs are absolutely appalled, so it needs to be something that everyone who is against this break away can do in protest.

I think you are under estimating the feeling of fans and how they won't put up with this, and also the Uk government who will see this as a political issue that they need to win for the Uk man on the street.

Can you please provide evidence from the last 25years where politicians and fans have prevented the slide towards money dominating everything in football? Perhaps falling ticket prices? Transfers? Salaries? Agents? Dominance by a few clubs? Maybe how seriously the FA Cup is taken? Thursday night football? Monday afternoon Football? Sticking a World Cup in the middle of the season?

Yes, fans and politicians have successfully resisted all this and the Billionaires owning the clubs are at the mercy of the fans and governing authorities!! Because hell hath no fury like a plastic armchair fan watching in Bangkok...

This is a brilliant idea and I'd like to contribute to it. It tells the others to bugger off and reinforces our recognition of, admiration for and lifelong debt to Tony Bloom and his family.

Now isn’t the moment to be sucking people off. A tornado of rage and anger is required along the lines of York City. At every ground for every match. Stop the game and people will have to take notice. Waving a red card from the stands whilst eating your hot dog ain’t going to cut it. So easy to ignore. Divided we’re conquered. I'm not critical of anybody who turns up and genuinely protests, in a way which people will actually notice and care about. I'm talking about how I expect the majority of fans at these clubs to make a show of being unhappy but not to do anything that will actually upset or bother the owners in any way. A season or two down the line they'll be clapping along in their big league feeling good about themselves for making their feelings known 2 years prior despite achieving bugger all.

If I turn out to be wrong I'll be thrilled.

Yes,I had a quick look on their forum earlier and the majority are pretty pissed off and planning protests at the next game and many of them saying they will boycott the club if it goes ahead.
I think this is an issue for all fans to join together to fight against those club's owners.
I think wait and see what kind of protests the fans of those club's start and then,as you say,contact their fans and join in with supporting their protests.
Cross club fan solidarity is very important with regards to this issue I believe.

See what banners Man City fans come up with - then arrange for those banners to also be displayed at the Amex, ideally at the away end where they can't be missed on the telly

Our stadium and shirts are sponsored by one of the biggest charge cards, credit cards and travel insurance businesses on the planet. I don't particularly associate that with overcharging those "poor americans" any more than I would if we were sponsored by Barclaycard and their remorseless pursuit of the dopey herberts who fail to keep up with their credit card spending on Diamond White and crack.
