Bit off topic but one of my favourite 'legends' things
Brighton's finest Steve Ferrone on drums, was telling the story later that Prince had said to Mark Mann, Jeff Lynne's guitarist to take the solo as he did it so well and Prince would 'do something at the end'. The looks on the faces of the rest of them when Prince comes on and does THAT
Apparently to this day, Steve Ferrone has no idea what happened to Prince's guitar at the end and he was sat right behind him

I only found out about that performance a couple of years back when my brother told me. Petty had passed me by, I hadn’t realised how accomplished he was.
I think someone on NSC said Prince hadn’t rehearsed at all.
A fitting tribute to a great guy and musical genius.

Yep, saw him there, also saw him as support act for Gary Numan, also did a guest walk on part for Numan for a couple of songs and on his own at I think Jenkinsons Bar...
