When it comes to cover versions Metallica's best effort is Bob Seger's ' Turn the Page'. As cover versions that spank the original it's up there with The Strangler's cover of Walk on By.

Now I thought Harry Wilson's tackle would be the one posting the YouTube vids, I was very wrong, sorry Harry.
I also thought everyone is just posting straight forward lists we can all just quickly read.

There's always one. :glare:

Stuart Murdoch - Another Saturday (from Dark Was the Night Compilation; the tune is "Wild Mountain Thyme" with Murdoch's lyrics)
Gil Scott-Heron - The Get Out of the Ghetto Blues (not bad - kind of a filler on the excellent compilation The Revolution Will Not Be Televised)
The Mekons - Flowers of Evil part 2 (noisy, groovy jam from the raw, wonderful Existentialism)
Death Cab For Cutie - We Looked Like Giants (can't say I've ever paid much attention to this song. It's about looking back at a youthful affair; it's a bit meh)
Simply Saucer - Yes I Do (Very lo-fi, live garage rock from some Canadians who probably influenced Guided by Voices)
