Cardiff City will field a young and inexperienced side for Tuesday's FAW Premier Cup quarter-final at Bangor.

Only five of the Bluebirds' 20-man squad making the trip to Farrar Road have first-team experience.

I assume Cardiff are an impoverished club and this is just the latest demonstration of how a once proud club are being ripped apart.

I look forward to the 'Fans United' press release. We can save those guys if we all pull together/boycott Welsh lamb. Or something.

I once lived in Farrar Road. For a crowd of around 200, Bangor used to have quite a lot of hooligans. Glad to see the real welsh winning.

With tonight's news about Wrexham being sold and City's defeat at Bangor, perhaps the Clubs in Crisis event could be moved to Ninian Park on Saturday? Not that there's a game on or anything, but the weather forecast is good.

I could have a look at where I parked outside the Athletics Stadium for the Playoff final.

I didnt think we could qualify for the UEFA cup by winning that? maybe we should annex Sussex from the UK and apply for a place through UEFA?

We can't qualify for Europe by winning the FAW Premier Cup either. If we could, do you think we'd be playing our youth team in the competition?

Precisely. A club proud of being Welsh - rather than one which flies the Welsh flag, bangs on about how Welsh they are, but aren't proud enough to play in their nation's own league - win the tie. Quite right, too.

I suppose Swansea and Wrexham aren't proud of being Welsh either as they don't play in the League of Wales?

TWAT.

Correct.

Although they don't bang on and on about anti-Welsh prejudice in the English leagues, like your lot do, so they are nowhere near as bad.

I'm not one of the ones on this board who will stoop to anti-Welsh statements at the drop of the hat - quite the opposite. I spend a lot of time there and my partner is a Welsh-speaking daughter of Ynys Mon. I would feel exactly the same way about any English club who played in another league, and it's one of the (many) reasons I hate the Old Firm, who clearly have no allegiance to Scotland. Proud to be Welsh? Then join the Welsh league. Want to be in the English league? Then stop pretending your club is proud to be Welsh.

The English league? Which one's that then?

Cardiff, Wrexham and Swansea don't play in the English league, as there is no such thing. Those three Welsh teams play in the Football League - a league which actually has no specific rules regarding the nationality of its member clubs. If you knew anything about the League's history you'd be aware of that.

Were you aware that Cardiff City have been members of the Football League for as long as Brighton & Hove Albion? In fact, both clubs were invited by the League's management committee to join it in the very same season, at a time when other Welsh clubs such as Newport and Aberdare were also competing in the competition.

Perhaps you should brush up on your Football League history before making sweeping statements about which clubs should be playing where.

you think all that welsh shit is wrong, check this out:

Gretna are in their first season playing in their geographical homeland, after playing in English Leagues virtually since their inception. They progressed from the Carlisle and District Leagues to the Unibond League before taking the space in the Scottish League left by the demise of Airdrieonians / Clydebank and the reformation of Airdrie United in summer 2002. Virtually on the Scotland-England border, the town is closer to Carlisle and Newcastle than Glasgow, and until now has been famous only for the weddings of eloping couples, held a mile up the road in Gretna Green.

Here's some further Football League history for Fatbadger:

Cardiff City joined the Football League Second Division from the Southern League at the start of the 1920/21 season.

At the same time the Football League Third Division (South) was formed, which included Merthyr Town, Swansea Town, Newport County and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Cardiff were promoted to Division One in their first season as a Football League club, while Merthyr, Swansea and Newport all finished above Brighton in the new Third Division (South).

The following season (1921/22), Wrexham took their place in the newly-formed Third Division (North), while Aberdare Athletic joined Merthyr, Swansea, Newport and Brighton in the Third Division (South).

English league my arse.

Why are people so hung up on nationality?

Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea, Merthyr, Colwyn Bay and Newport play in the football league structure.

Oswestry (a town in England) are in the Welsh League

Berwick (in England) in the Scottish League.

Derry (up north) in the Eircom League

Monaco (a principality) in Le Championnat.

Vaduz (Liechtenstein) playing in the Swiss League.

Nigel Quashie playing for Scotland

Owen Hargreaves (a Canadian born to English/Welsh parents, living and working in Germany playing for England)

Borders are arbitrary, temporary definitions of statehood.

Can't we just all get along?
