The PopGuns??!! Blimey - takes me back.

They supported the band I was in (Almost Charlotte) at the Richmond (now Pressure Point) in 1989.

By dint of this we should have been MASSIVE! Could have put loads of money into the Albion then.....

House of Love rumoured to be getting back together.

Best band of the late 80s.

Good calls on the Chameleons, Graham Parker & the Rumour (one of the best live acts ever), and the Red Guitars.

To which I add:

The Only Ones - wrote some awesomely beautiful songs that should have been massive hits.

The Wild Swans - classic Liverpool band who split up after one single (though they did reform a few years later) when their contemporaries Echo & the Bunnymen and Teardrop Explodes were becoming huge.

Doctors of Madness. Excellent band from the mid-70s who seemed to have no other fans apart from Attila and me.

I remember us going to see them at the Marquee, thinking there might be half-a-dozen people there and finding it was packed out as Dave Vanian from the Damned had just joined them .

I also liked the Dandies, a quirky sub-Bowie Brighton band, who got blown away by the punk wave in 1977.

I liked loads of weird German electronic bands as well but probably the idea that they should have been big is not shared by any other sentient being.

Could have been huge but Peter Perrett developed a love of smack and went the way of his hero Syd Barrett

Only ever heard their one hit wonder track, and I'd agree there... wonder what the hell happened to them, they weren't standard one hit wonder cheese.

Inside was a fantastic track and they should have pushed on from there.....Trying to find out what happened to them. Apparently their lead singer is now in Genesis.

TSoul Asylum, had the one big hit over here (Runaway Train) saw them support Guns 'n' Roses and very nearly stole the show. Although they have been recording since 1981 and still going they never cracked it over here.

Never thought I'd see Soul Asylum mentioned on NSC, good call. A top band, check out Hang Time and And the Horse They Rode In On, quality albums. I saw them quite a bit at the end of the 80's and early 90's, really excellent band.
