Eyeless in Gaza

:thumbsup:

This prompted my nerdiest ever stalking-fan incident when I cornered EiG singer Martin Bates after his solo slot supporting Felt at the Escape in 1987(?). My ice-breaker was something along the lines of: "So, is your band named after the Aldous Huxley book, or after the line in John Milton's poem 'Samson Agonistes', from which Huxley got his title*?"

Yes, the answer was Huxley by the way.

*"Eyeless in Gaza, at the mill with slaves..." (or something like that)

The Black Rebels Motorcycle Club was in the film The Wild One which (probably?) was based on a book or short story.

Being anti Roger Dean you aint going to like this list, but hey it's a free world baby and that's all the matters to Kosh!

1= Fuschia (as in Lady Fuschia, Gormenghast, Mervyn Peake)
2= Titus Groan (as above)
3= Beggars Opera (John Gay, it's a play, but published nonetheless!)
4 = Magna Carta (Legal charter, but who cares!)

Four top prog bands, what else!

Kosh

I like Mervyn Peake

Are you Liquid?

The Soft Machine - Novel by William Burroughs - well as much of a 'novel' as he was capable of writing.

The band were better than the book by the way....
