I saw Queen at Wembley on the Live Magic tour. A very memorable gig. Beach Hut saw them at Knebworth on the same tour...which turned out to be Freddie’s last show.

Bands I wish I’d seen, and was able to see, are The Clash and Daft Punk. Over 35 years of extensive gigging I have seen every other band I have ever wanted to witness.

PS I don’t do the wish-I’d-seen-Hendrix etc because I wasn’t alive. I don’t worry about things I clearly could never have done.

I didn’t realise that Freddie couldn’t sing until I saw Queen at Wembley

Comedian rather than band, but Bill Hicks for me. Had the chance while at university involving a long trip to a gig but was doing something else, and then he died at just 32 shortly afterwards. Proper legend, still enjoy the videos.

Bath, Somerset.
Joy Division just before they released the classic Unknown Pleasures - they were supporting The Buzzcocks at The Lyceum, London, in 1979, but me and my mates though, "Nah, never heard of them, let's go to the bar instead."

I've regretted it ever since.

Joy Division, the Clash and the Birthday Party.

a few years too young for Joy Division.
Passed up a ticket for the Birthday Party when I was 14.
regretted it ever since.

Nirvana for me too. I had a ticket to see them in Manchester, then the daft bugger shot himself...

Worst of all, my mate's mum sent the tickets back for a £12 refund, denying me the choice of keeping it forever or (more likely) selling it on eBay for £200 (which they went for at the time...)

A fine cigar, a couple of lovely porters, great music on you tube and to top it all off being ridiculed on NSC. The perfect evening...

But being pedantic to the pedant, it seems I voted for a gig I saw but wished I hadn’t.

This or the other original thread should be constantly resurrected annually. There is so much good music out there (some very obscure) that we should all share.
