Saving Private Ryan - absolutely brilliant
Band Of Brothers - couple of patchy episodes, but on the whole brilliant. Concentration Camp scene was very moving.

Enjoyed it, although like most Spielberg you would think the only people in WW2 were the Yanks and the Germans.

No, they also had to rescue some British commando's caught between enemy lines:angry:

but good tv

why can't we do the same?

I think I know the real reason why we don't do WW2 series as Band of Brothers. Monty was very slow on achieveing missions. Such as: Capturing Caen. Whilst the Yanks where faster then us and more quicker on achieveing objectives.

British involvement went beyond Monty, the Desert Rats and him being a bit slow in Northern France. How about telling the story of the soilders that battled the Japs in places like India and Burma?

Yes the prison one, I was thinking of the week before, only thing I do have problems with, are how up in the front line the women are,... would they actually stick women in such close proximity to dangerous prisoners like they were in this episode.

bit of a pointless poll though Kev. Anyone who does not like it will probably not even open it. Bloody great series though.

That was what I also thinking, I think thought the women would of been back at camp. Mrs B didn't even see her son, what I thought totally out of order.

In London village.

Then again, according to American media the russians were only bit part players?

Poll says 100% (28) superb - I'd go along with that.

The dud shell landing next to the foxhole was pretty gripping - I just can't imagine the adrenalin and fear those guys must of lived (or died) on.
