There is a reluctance from FIFA to accuse anyone of diving. They have said if there is contact you shouldn't book someone for diving. Because accusing someone of diving is calling them a cheater and that is a serious accusation that can ruin a reputation.
Erm... cheating is deliberately breaking rules to gain an unfair advantage, right?
So, those "reducer fouls" (?) - taking a man out on the half way line to prevent a counter attack -they are cheating, but no one has a problem a) admitting they occur and players are deliberately committing fouls to gain an advantage for their team b) booking players for it.
I think the whole "we can't accuse players of cheating" excuse for not clamping down on diving, or for banning people for diving is ridiculous.
