As the Eduardo thing a few years ago showed, it's completely impossible to enforce. I actually think it's got marginally better in the past couple of years, in that referees are more clued up on it.

The irony of Pulis having a go at cheating is hilarious.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has hailed as "brilliant" that striker Peter Crouch managed to "get away" with scoring against Manchester City by using his hand to control the ball.

Despite Crouch clearly controlling the ball with his hand before slotting home, Pulis refused to condemn the former Liverpool man and instead insisted that he was happy that his player had managed to score.

They would have to have a tribunal that meets weekly or even more frequently to review incidents.

There would also have to be an appeals process, a bit like the decision referral system in cricket, just a lot slower.

They might have a sliding scale of punishments from nothing, then a warning, and finally a 1 game ban for the obvious ones.

Finally, there would have to be a deterrent to limit malicious referrals, so somehow the referring team (I assume the supposed aggrieved) would have to risk punishment if the original decision was clearly correct, which I guess would have to be financial...

I'd assume he means retrospectively, so obvious ones like Ashley Young and Luis Suárez last season (probably this season too, I haven't been keeping track), so if it is clear that the player has dived then a ban can be given. Although this would only be applicable to matches on TV, as most grounds don't have the facilities around to have slow motion shots of every challenge.

It's Pulis' insistence that it's all the dirty, cheating foreigners who do it that annoys me. Is he not aware of Ashley Young? Or the example given above where he's delighted at his English player engaging in another form of simulation in order to score a goal.

Plus, yes, his team play the most hellish, agricultural, thug-like football I've seen for years. I really, really want them to get relegated. Repeatedly. Oh, and he needs to lose that f***ing baseball cap as well. Prick.

After video review and there is irrefutable evidence someone has claimed a foul when there has been no contact ban them for ten games. Somewhat extreme but the penalty has to be a deterrent. Either that or bring back hanging.

Sod 3 games, if you're convicted of cheating, then you should be banned for good, or at least, 12 months.

No, I disagree. I think players have just got better at it, attackers now seek to make contact with defenders to make it look like they have been fouled before they dive...the sneaky cheats.

I would love to see them banned for longer than three games using video evidence.
