Question. The e mail said if you want to go in the ballot as a group let them know. I am happy to go on my own so am I right in saying that i have to do not have to do anything?
Yep that s correct.

Will be applying for every game as the Chelsea game showed how well the club manage these things and last time felt great just to be back in the stadium watching the team live.

Surprised at the way this vote is going.

Was it really that safe on the first test game?

Looking forward to it. Don’t know what will happen in the New Year so will try to get a game in while I can. 500 less than the Chelsea game, so wonder if it will just be the East stand

If I have a government shielding letter I assume I can be exempt until further notice. I assume I need to forward this to the club quickly!

Can anyone confirm?

Yes

I went on my own (walked to the ground from where I park so no transport issues).

Socially distanced queues to get in, everyone wearing masks. ID checked on entry to match to ticket

Concourses deserted compared to a normal matchday.

Socially distanced queues (such as there were any queues) for food and drink. People mostly going straight to their seats as soon as they could.

Seats very well segregated - three empty either side and one behind and in front

Cleaners sanitising all handrails etc very regularly

Everyone there being respectful and keeping their distance.

100x better than, say, a visit to Tesco.....and the atmosphere was actually pretty good

I want to go but am in tier 3. I'm 'advised' not to travel out of region. Are there any locals who'd rather I swerved it if got lucky in the ballot?

Your call..........protocols at the ground will mean you’re very unlikely to be risking transmission to anyone else, but isn’t people pushing the boundaries of the restrictions the biggest risk to everywhere ending up in T3 (and more people dead) ?

My experience on some points, with Papa Lazarou and e77, were different to yours...

- Queues to get in were NOT anything like socially distanced. From my recollection of when we both posted about this at the time, we possibly tried to enter the ground later than you. When we were trying to get in, so were a lot of people and with few entrance points available everything got bunched up. Security check of tickets and/or ID and/or faces also slowed the whole thing down considerably.

- The concourses were OK pre-match and half-time, but my group all agreed that we'd not want there to be any more people in them because, even at 1/4 capacity, it's a reasonable number of people standing around in an area with poor air circulation.

If I was choosing one experience as "safer" I'd choose my weekly shop at Tesco every time, but I have no concerns with either. Given infection levels now are that much higher than they were for the Chelsea game, I suspect I'd just pass straight through the concourse, even if it was open for use. Lingering in the concourse is likely to be the major risk point in the whole thing.

I always presume the pissed up idiots and the bogs will be the most trying part of the experience, only based on many years of watching!

I’m hoping that I’m not chosen for the Southampton game. I would go if it was the Saturday, but 8pm Monday, no Seagull Travel and having to go by myself on bus and train, no thank you.

I know. I'm in a low rate region though. I'd rather be told you cant travel out of region for this as it would be easier. Seems a bit odd that we can travel out of reason to work.

-probably right re entry, I was (I think) there about an hour before ko. There was only a couple of people in front of me. The ID check was very quick.

-concourses for the Saints game will be even less populated I suspect with max 2000 going.....depending on how much of the ground is open I suppose.

-I’ve been to Tesco (Burgess Hill) a couple of times in the last month. Social distancing seems to be ignored in the main.

Be interesting to see what has been learned from the Chelsea game and what protocols the EPL/Government have agreed..........

Interesting, I am not sure I would be comfortable at what others would do. The infection rate is higher than at the test match, that would swing it for me personally.

I would also be wary that any infection could end up in our Xmas bubble.

But it looks like I am in the minority on this one, how unusual.
