Biss was the first of the three with us and set the standard. Caicedo was superb for us, but less so now Chelsea have worked their magic on him. Baleba looks so strong, has pace and vision and unlike the other two has now shown he can keep a shot down and on target. I have no doubt he will leave the other two behind and hopefully a joy to watch for more than just this season. I wonder who the algorithm has identified to succeed him eventually.

Malick Yalcouye is a good bet.

Why would he want to? Massive pay check is all he wanted
If you're right, then there's no need to move. But you're rarely right.

Fair point, but these days Caicedo looks a totally different player for Chelsea than the player we remember. He's lost his dynamism and plays everything safe.

I agree, one could argue it is the same with Bissouma. Is there something about the Brighton midfield allows these players to be more dynamic and expressive?

So the question can only really be answered once we see where Baleba goes next, or even if he stays with us for longer.

From Brighton performances alone the answer must surely be Caicedo but with a huge asterix to point out that we need to see how Baleba progresses.

We’re surely going to be selling some very good players in the next two years or so.

Yalcouyé is indeed a good bet for Baleba’s replacement. We also have Gomez, Buonanotte, Barco, Osman, Moran, Rushworth, Cozier-Duberry, Baker-Boaitey, Sarmiento, Sima and Doyle amoungst others who will be trying to replace players such as Verbruggen, Adingra or Mitoma who might be sold for big money.

We probably needs to buy some good young centre halfs at some point though. I’m not sure we have a new Dunk or Webster to take over if either leaves or retires.

I think Baleba has great potential but he hasn't shown himself to be greater than the other 2.

Bissouma was my favourite player when with the Albion and he has proved the greater player of the 3 so far and will continue that growth into the future.

Caicedo just isn't as much quality as Bissouma and will continue to trail behind Biss.

Do wonder if the stars have aligned a bit with Baleba - as well as speed, strength and ability to tackle he seems exactly suited to Fab’s slightly chaotic helter-skelter tactics. Not sure I’ve been this excited about one our players before - the way he’s performed in his last few appearances is a huge leap from where he was (which indicates Fab is nailing his development too). He’s reminding me a bit of peak Gerrard at the moment. Scary prospect given his age.

Baleba is a f***ing beast! He has everything. I think he could be a level above Caicedo. The physicality of him with the pace and the hunger and athleticism. It’s like he’s been created on computer game. It’s rare I’ve watched our players with my mouth open just in awe.
If he can improve his passing game to be a little bit more constructive (without losing out on accuracy), I'll agree. He's a little too Bissouma on that front to compete with Caicedo in overall quality as it stands, imo.

All 3 benefitted from signing for a club that has supporters who don't expect their team to win the league or qualify for the Champions League. They can develop and make the odd mistake without being totally crucified by entitled supporters who think their team has a god given right to win every game. I would suggest Brighton is the perfect club for young talent to sign for and long may it continue. Just be nice to keep some of them a bit longer! Voted Caicedo but it was a close call.

Baleba’s ceiling is incredibly high.

but for now, Bissouma. I bloody loved watching Bissouma.

For me, Caicedo’s stint with us is the best I’ve ever seen from a midfielder at the Albion in terms of all round ability.

Bissouma was the most fun to watch, with by far the most flair, but Caicedo is a more rounded footballer.

Baleba is still such a work in progress. He’s started this season brilliantly, but still makes some strange mistakes that need to be cut out before he can be discussed on their level, in my opinion.

Brighton factually.....
Baleba will improve in leaps and bounds, he has a future Real Madrid signing all over him, the first few games this season he is improving game on game, he also has a better eye for goal.

Neither here nor there
If Baleba keeps developing at this rate then he's going to be world class.

Sadly, that will also mean he'll be packing his bags, albeit with a big cheque for Tony coming the other way.

Got to enjoy these players while they're here I guess, and trust the club to find more of them.

I went for Bis and was surprised at the result that only 3 others followed me.
Baleba still has a long way to go and when Chelsea buy him it will all go wrong.
Caicedo was the most expensive player in England and worth every penny, until Chelsea wrecked his confidence.
Bissouma is the only player with a regular start and doing well.
