Baked Beans

Have to be careful to pick up the right tin.

Avoid any lighter, sugar free or ny other variant as the will all prove to be pretty disgusting.

Heinz original takes a lot of beating !

Having said all that I don't buy that many baked beans.

At the end of cooking the ingredients of fry up I like to pour baked beans into the greasy pan and cook until all the juices have boiled off. Delicious scraped over the other items on the plate.

A year ago I would have said Heinz without any hesitation...
But one day the better half returned from shopping with Branstons beans. She explained they were half the price and thought we could try them. I was not impressed to say the least as baked beans are sacred and not to be messed with, obviously.
To my utter surprise they were great and I issued a full apology for my initial reaction.
A couple of months ago she served me some beans that were clearly not Branstons and I moaned at her again, only for her to inform me that she'd grabbed a tin of heinz as there were no Branstons when she went shopping.
Maybe my taste buds have changed but after a year of Branstons, Heinz now taste too sweet and somewhat blander.
