It really makes me laugh that people have a genuine view that we played badly and the reasons were this and that, and it's followed by people thinking everyone's panicking.

Get over yourselves. It's all about telling it as it is. If someone thinks we plyed crap, then that is their view especially as they were there to see it. They are entitled you know

Thought Bamba had CMS in his pocket today, purely because of his pace and strength which can get him out of poor positioning sometimes.

Feel that CMS will score goals against the lesser teams this season with his pace and attitude though.

Yeah, Bamba had surprising pace and did read the game well.

We weren't great at all. LCFC had the better plan and stopped our wingers. Bamba was very good.

Great day out though. Our support was magnificent and I thought Leicester fans were very quiet.

yeh nooney played on the right, everytime hes over there the game passes him by, he is awesome on the left, like i said in another post harley doesnt like to put any effort in and he should have gone off at half time, think it was just one of those days where none off them got going, we didnt deserve anything and cms miss was unreal, even liam seemed to b off it, so just hoping its a one off and normal service will b resumed friday

Got back at 10pm in Norwich due to delayed trains.... We lacked a final ball, Barnes was just lost the entire game and we gave away the ball way too much! One problem was with Noone on the right and Harley drifting out wide we didn't really have that good wingplay, and Bamba just seemed to muscle our forwards out of the game! But oh well, it's just one game, we'll pick ourselves up, Leicester are a good side so it's nothing to be ashamed of!

Sometimes you just have to hold up your hands and accept the opposition have some excellent players. Their defence is fantastic and basically cut out everything we tried. We needed a bit of luck or something special to nab a goal but it wasn't to be. Leicester probably deserved the win but it's not like we were battered.

It's quite encouraging that we've gone away to one of the best sides in the league, and instead of camp in our own half and defend for our lives, we've been good enough to push them back and pass it about well ourselves. Quite different to Southampton away last season as a comparisson. Still bloody pissed off to lose though.

Thanks for the reply. Sort of gathered this by the radio. The obvious thing to do if we wanted a right sided player was to play Buckley.

My reckoning is that if we want to play a 4-3-3 with a left winger, we have got to play a "box to box midfielder" and we have not really got one good enough at this level. Henri Lansbury looks like the only one in the Division. The easiest thing to do is what Sven did: play four across the middle of the park and no wingers. Or play a proper "target man" one up front who can hold on to the ball, like Vassell (good job he can't score as well).

My take was that Leicester have Premiership quality up front and it showed, they were also a tough team who were well up for today and exposed us as a little bit lightweight. Thier defence was solid and very quick too which meant CMS and Barnes had few opportunities, but we did have them and could have sneaked something.

Enjoyable game and a wake up call that we are not gonna run away with this division like we did League 1. Leicester looked a very good team, hope that there aren't too many like them in this division.

I don't agree we played poorly, we just weren't allowed to play our natural game and were given more problems than we posed.

The fact that CMS is not scoring could it be that we are not playing to his strength and getting the ball to him quick enough as he always seems to be on the last defenders shoulders looking for the ball. I think that he will start to hit it off when Hoskins is fit and playing, good as he has been I dont think Barnes combines well with him and may be better suited to be a super sub.

Great post.

The best game CMS has had (that I've seen) was down at Cardiff. People were coming out of the ground saying he was worth more like 20 mil'. He had space in front of him to run into & the ball was put behind their defence for him to chase & hassle their defenders who were trying to turn.
If Leicester are one of the top teams then we've done really well creating chances & only coming away with a 0-1 when down to 10 men. Plus, we simply didn't play very well, it happens.
Gus will get into them this week & we will come back stronger, especially with the depth in our squad these days.

Obviously I wasn't there, but thanks to those that went for this thread. I get more from your reports than reading the Argus or BBC online.

Littlehampton,Wick actually
Best team won, service to CMS was slow,he looked isolated up front on his own most the time, need someone up front with a bit of quality also, who he can play off,but hey ho,no need to panic.

this, I am no manager and its just 1 match....... for me the class player on the field was darius vassell, not because he threatened to score, but he held the ball up, backed in to defenders and fed simple passes straight through the defence to others. He was brilliant.

To me, we do lack that, our small forwards work in many games but not in all. Against massive physical defenders they were not in the game and often easily muscled off the ball. Replace Barnes for todays game only (who hardly got a kick) with a Murray or even a Paynter type player, who can back in and feed simple balls down the channels as Vassell did. Maybe we'd still lose, but we have no physical presence up top able to hold the ball up :moo:

We just kept giving the ball away and, not for the first time, the biggest offender was Dicker although he wasn't alone. Some days he just seems to give the ball away and today was one of those days. Just as we looked like we were making headway against them, the ball was passed straight to a Leicester player and we were under pressure again. One of those days that happen in football-we just had a bad day.

This defeat may be a good thing as it will bring unrealistic expectations down. Gus said we will do well to sneak a play off play and that is right. We have imo no chance of being in the top 2 come the end of the season. Teams like West Ham, Leicester and I hate to say it Southampton will be the contenders for the title. I would be more than happy with 6th place come May and even a consolidation season in mid table would be fine at this stage. The Premiership is a 3 year plan.

We were not at our best today. But maybe that was, as others have mentioned, we were not allowed to do our stuff.
Bamba was very good, as was Vassel in his role.
But, even after that, we had 3 very good chances. CMS' horrible miss, Barnes not properly connecting, and the follow up to that. Harley had time to take a touch and line up, on his chance. So yes, after that we could have nicked a point.
We are in a learning process.

We really need Hoskins back. What the hell is going on there? I'm beginning to wonder whether we'll ever see him in the stripes for any length of time. Just how bad is his injury?
