Back from Doncaster...

to my hotel room.

Not a great game, sides looked evenly matched but a well earned point for the Albion; we looked a bit jaded though.

Liked their new ground although it seems they're having trouble filling it according to my work colleagues who organised the night out. Not many chances but I thought we'd scored with a header in the 2nd half (Lynch?).
Kuypers booking seemed harsh as he'd gathered the ball and then his momentum took him out of the area.
Good to see Reid getting a run out. Loft looked OK when he came on.

I think we had two shots on target, both headers or that's all I can remember. Think they had one shot on target.

Could have had a penalty at the end when there defender had his hands all over Bas but really if we're serious about promotion then those are the games which we should really be winning but one point is better than none.

and should have had a penalty for the foul on Forster. But a good solid battling performance.

I thought it was more of a fall myself, not tugged down to the ground but just generally fell when he lost control of the ball

That's like claiming Chelsea need to win away at Man Utd if they're serious about winning the title. Not true.

A point away to a tricky in-form team on a Tuesday night is a good result, and am pretty happy with another point on the board.

are you serious? even if it was a foul, the total meal forster made of going down made it look completely fake

two sides who didnt look like they were battling it out for 6th spot, more like lower midtable - our one tactic of launch it to bas simply didnt work, and they knocked it about playing pretty football without really ever threatening

substitutions were strange - no robinson despite the fact it looked like he could be the one to unlock the defence. revell coming on for forster was pretty ludicrous, and reid didnt really get that involved to make much of a difference

on the plus side, it was good to see both hammond and fraser running forward with the ball, but cox was again ineffective. would have been interesting if kuipers had have got sent of with no keeper on the bench. still, good point away from home, and i would be very suprised on tonights display if doncaster are up there come the end of the season, as the likes of carlisle, yeovil, southend, swansea and tranmere have looked far better

However, no win in the league in 4 games now. I think the cups are becoming too much of a distraction, but we have 6 league games in 25 days (Starting Friday) so we need to get back to winning ways.

Forest (H) - 1 point
Swindon (A) - 3 points
Gillingham (H) - 3 points
Millwall (A) - 3 points
Yeovil (A) - 1 point
Bournemouth (H) - 3 points

Gillingham with their rubbish away form, and Bournemouth with their rubbishness in general should be home BANKERS.

3 points away to Swindon and Millwall are also realistic targets, but 3 against Millwall and 1 at Swindon will do nicely.

Forest and Yeovil 1 point a piece, or 1 win and 1 defeat - Either is good.

Should be aiming for 12 points bare minimum, with 14 points a distinct possibility. Will set us up nicely for the FA cup game.

it all depends on peoples viewpoints really - losing 1 in15 or whatever it is now is the positive, we can challenge for the play-offs view. having not won for 4 games is the mid table mediocrity view - unfortunately, i cant see us winning for at least another one

Lucky you to have got back to your room at that time! Mr B rolled in gone 4.10 am and he drove back from Toddington, god knows what time the coach got back to Brighton

Fouir points from four games. I know we aren't losing and we played some form sides in here (with Forest to come hard on the heels of Donny) but it looks to me like we are stalling.

Draw away at a form side is a good result - considering they had the weekend off and we went to Devon and back and played in terrible conditions.

The next month will really tell us if we are going to be able to cut it. Play-offs are still within touching distance, but lower-mid table isn't far away either.

I've read that we were pretty jaded last night and that Forster was taken off because he was knackered. We'll see, but I'd still take "win-lose" all the way to the end of January rather than protect this "unbeaten run" which seems to hide some cracks.

I love the way most of our expectations have changed so much from early season, what would have been seen as an excellent number of results then is now seen as slightly disappointing. Club is going in the right direction

Because you're not allowed to think anything different from the sheep herd.

Eh? "Not allowed", who enforces this exactly? What a bizarre thing to say. As was the comment by RM-Taylor that we should really be winning ties like this if we want promotion. No we shouldn't. Donny are one of the best sides in the division and also one of the form sides. Wilkins played a team and a system to get a bore draw away from home and he pulled it off, whilst giving some of his key players a bit of a rest for a tough game in 3 days time. Personally I think this is a bloody brilliant result from the lads and fantastic management from Deano. McGhee often tried this and often failed but Dean has brought the team on so much that now we are starting to grind out clean sheets. That is what you need if you want promotion, the ability to lock things up and keep it tight.
I believe that RM-T is young so his expectation is to win every game, fair enough. I admire his optimism. That doesn't make him right though, I'm sure in another 10 years of watching the Albion he'd regard his earlier comments as clueless himself.

It's a great result, especially against a team that didn't play on Saturday. We've played well against good teams in the last few weeks. We're playing far better than anyone could have hoped at the start of the season. I'm just nervous that the "unbeaten run" brigade might be missing the fact that the great form to date might just be slowing down.

I'm with you Mr Kraay tbh, but I just never thought I'd get to write ONE DEFEAT IN SIXTEEN GAMES, about the Albion.

Good news for Friday is that Forest also played Saturday and last night, so ought to be tired too. We're going to win it, 1-0 with a Hammond penalty.

Agree completely. It's reassuring that we are moaning about not winning against the 6th placed side away. Fantastic achievement and we really have a strong side with real depth. Compare and contrast with last year......
