BA 777 crash solved

Having carefully checked all the readouts from the FDR's, CVR's and technical telemetary from the onboard avionics systems, the investigators have discovered EXACTLY what happened to the aircraft which I can now exclusively announce to NSC.

Forget about fuel starvation, computers failure and even the co-pilot spilling boiling hot coffee down his trousers.........

It was the taxi driving along the permiter road!!!

I have re run the approach on my microsoft flight simulator and I can confirm that it was the Taxi that caused the incident.

How you may well ask?

It is very clear. If the approach is flown exactly at 136kts and a taxi passes along the perimiter road at 58.1 mph the pressure wave from the speeding taxi WILL propogate to an altitude of 600 feet thereby causing a drop in in-let pressure on an approaching aircraft.

Clearly any demand for power will be useless whether through the aircraft autothrottle system or by manual control from the crew.

Enquiry closed.

Action: Ban all taxis form the perminiter road.

Don't be stupid. The pressure wave from the taxi had nothing to do with it. It was because the taxi driver was talking on his radio at the time. I've lost count of the number of times I've used my radio and set off alarms in parked cars as I drive past.

How many times have you used your radio and brought British Airways aircraft crashing out of the sky, though?
