B&H Green party falling apart?

Sure I'm not the only one to spot it but surely Philem McCafferty is a joke name changed through deed poll?

Having just read the OP, and having only a passing familiarity with the political landscape of B&H, I honestly thought it was an Easy 10 style wind up. It's only a couple of letters and a slur away from that bain of the off-season, the impending signing of Phil McCavity.

The Green party are finding out what the BNP (at a local level) and the LibDems (at a national level) found out a while ago - nothing destroys credibility quicker than actually getting a bit of power. (Expect UKIP to go the same way). The party you voted for as opposed to the serially-failing Big Two turn out to be just as bad, or in the case of the LibDems - a lot worse.

I'm no Green supporter but I can't really join in with all this Green-bashing. Yes they've screwed up the traffic with a number of schemes that are driven solely by dogma and ideology and not what Brighton (which is a tourist destination as well as being a local place for local people) needs, but they've only really continued the process that was started by Labour. (And wasn't the 20mph limit originally suggested by the Tories?). And yes they're on the wrong end of a labour dispute, but we had binmen strikes under Labour and Tory administrations as well.

Was it Enoch Powell who said that everything in politics always ends in failure? Surely no one thinks things would be radically better if there was an election tomorrow and Brighton suddenly found itself with a majority Labour or Tory council.
