Azerbaijan v Wales

Even our very own Barn Door Davies would have been embarrassed by some of the finishing last night. Johnny Wilkinson might have been proud though!!

Photos from the Azeri National Stadium on my Facebook profile.

Not sure if non-Facebookers can see them or not.

Hope those who went to Khazakstan had a more entertaining night of football! The socialising with the Welsh fans on Friday night was good though, so not a total waste.

Azerbaijan v Spain on Tuesday night! Spain had (allegedly) been paid a million dollars by the Az government to bring their strongest squad and the list is quite impressive. Look forward to seeing some goals!

Why? i'd rather have a weakened squad and maybe snatch a point then just get f***ed over by a better team

It was mainly Azerbaijan who were troubling low flying aircraft. When they did manage to keep the ball low, Hennessey did all that he could be expected to do. The Welsh youth team looked pretty solid and deserved the win.

If rrruss was one of the eighty-odd travelling fans, he has my respect.

Yes, I do live in Baku and I did pay for a ticket, but only £6.50 whereas the FAW charged £18 to the Welsh fans although they subsequently got a full refund.

When I talked about skying shots, I was referring to the Azeri strike non-force. Wales didn't really create an awful lot and were under a lot of pressure in the second half.

The Spain game on Tuesday is a friendly. Torres and Villa should get a hat-trick each!!!

It was a fairly entertaining match and the young Welsh team done well as the lot seemed intent on crippling them the ref and his team done well too.
