Ahhh with you now BG. All those famous old pub chains gone forever. Courage, Watney's, Trumans, Friary Meux etc. etc.

We even had a brewery in my home town of Staines during my childhood, Simonds of Reading, became part of the Courage empire back in the 1960's l believe.

We used to have all those on our High Street in Plumstead (plus Ind Coope and Bass Charrington) Simonds was indeed swallowed up by Courage as was our local brewery Barclays - makers of 'Arsenal Stout'
