These are the criteria we've been set:

I have only been to a few different away grounds. Out of the next few away league games I will only be able to go to 1 max.
So taking into account time it takes to get there, and the overall atmosphere/stadium, what away day is best out of Carlisle, Oldham, Tranmere or Swindon

Purely taking into account time taken to get there it has to be (1st = best) :

1. Swindon
2. = Oldham
= Tranmere
4. Carlisle.

Purely taking into acount "atmosphere/stadium"

I'd say:

1. Oldham
2. = Carlisle
= Tranmere
4. Swindon

For the second list there Notters, is that the wrong way round?

Oldham's ground seems dead when we play there, or so I thought last season.

whats Swindon like by Train? I drove to the Play-Off victory but fancy getting ratted this time around
not bad at all, just under an hour from paddington, so if you get a quick train from victoria you should be able to do it in just over 2 hours. From what i remember its about a 15 minute walk from the station.

Has anyone been to tranmere and could say what it's like to get there on the train. Is it a bus from liverpool station to the ground or train or what?

No, that's the right order! Admitedly I didn't go to Oldham last season... Nice low roof on the stand isn't there? I hate that windy, open end at Swindon. It's true that I do just like going to these grim northern places out of geographical interest and it's great arriving back in Brighton afterwards! Maybe I'm just bonkers.

swindon is dead easy via the train,though not 100 per cent sure i think there is a train that goes directly from brighton to swindon,tho as i say i maybe wrong,if not its still a doddle

you have to go to carlisle if only so you can be one up on those who lack the dedication. best done as a weekender though.

and you can fit a night out in dumfries in for a taste of haggis land and for ultimate "brighton full of gays" irony have your photo taken outside Queen Of The Souths' ground.
