been wondering this for a while...when going to games north of london, how do you manage to get the trains on the cheap?
i always go by coach as i simply cant work it out

Book early with the trainline .com

Look for routes that travel early......4am etc .....also check trains from different locations, ie i went to Old Trafford once got the train to Leeds then the train across country to Manchester i guess u could try this visa versa.........derby is a big hub for connections .......basically look at the network map and work out how you could possibly get there

If you look outside the box u can always find cheaper ways to travel
