My dad went and bought me a ticket for the Sothend game earlier today.

He was told by the girl at the office that in order to buy the ticket I had to pay £10 to become an away member.

It's left me a bit confused because I got a Luton ticket last week without having to pay any extras!

Thing is I have never really done away games in the past :badfan: But I'm becoming a STH next year. So I just feel like this £10 is a bit of a waste.

I was under the impression that tickets go on sale to members first, and then they go on general sale.

Can anyone answer my questions please?

I didn't realise that Southend was pay on the day in time.

Does my membership give me the chance of getting away tickets for any potential playoff games?

yes - depending on if they are sold out when the gold members get their hands on them

If we get through to the playoffs and the away leg is 'all ticket' then you won't (certainly shouldn't) be able to purchase a ticket from the Albion unless you are a member. The game would no doubt be classified as 'high interest' and the gold/blue/white prioritisation applied as the scheme 'rules' indicate.

Well I have paid for my White membership with a tenner and filled out my details on a form. They said they are sending it to head office...and then what??

Do I recieve anything to say I'm a White member?? Because at the moment I have no reciept of anything to prove I paid my money!

We received a letter in the post confirming our membership numbers.

I am gutted, i used to be a member, but now just pay on the day. Been to a fair few away games this year and am going to Southend, Luton & Bristol so for someone to say i 'shouldn't' be allowed a ticket for playoffs is a joke.

Just because you paid to be a member dont make you a better fan mate.

That works ok at League 1 level Monty, but IF we got promoted again, you'd find that Championship clubs tend to have more 'all ticket' games.

1) I believe that's how the scheme operates - ie BHA won't sell you an advance ticket for an 'all ticket' away game unless you're in the membership scheme.
2) We didn't pay anything, transfered from the 'Away Membership Scheme' last summer for free. The cut-off date was 31/08/2007 which was on the club website and plastered all over NSC for weeks beforehand. It's only £10 (one off payment) now anyway.
3) Have never said or implied I am a better fan than anyone.
