These changes just announced take the capacity to 32,500, which is the maximum allowed currently.

If the club wanted to expand the south stand with another shelf then they'd have to apply for planning permission which would also cover the increase in capacity.

With the small shelf/hospitality area already there next to the screen at the south end of the ground you've got to think expanding that is a possibility in the future.

I’m not a season ticket holder so have the luxury of sitting wherever I want and the SWC is by far the my favourite place in the stadium. Atmosphere next to the away fans, it’s lively, great view of the pitch at a good elevation, quick and easy service at the refreshment kiosks. That little separate section up its own stairs (is it ‘I’ stand?) is brilliant. We have pizzas! Quick escape to the p and r queue.
Lots of this will still be available in the South Stand, I expect. And lots of the SWC do regularly stand-up, whenever anything happens on the other corner of the pitch.

Well seeing as how £40M does not get that far these days, it is a good job that Beaky got his vanity project sorted all those year ago.
I was thinking about their new stand recently 150m seems a bit unrealistic for a project of that size, surely costs must be pushing £200m now

Maybe not if they use a local firm 🤔

Could we get anymore seats here by bringing blocks E3B and E3G down a little to close it up? I know this is accessible seating but I've always wondered whether it could be both... I know it would need more planning permission.

It’s always looked untidy and a whole load of visible concrete, to accommodate a few accessible seats with a high vantage point. I assume TB’s examined solutions to add more seats there?

Not read the whole thread but has there been an indication as to how far along WSL the away seats will reach? We need to allow for 3000 for league and 3500 for cup games!

The corner blocks are being extended all the way back with non-hospitality seats including the shelf. I wonder if S1F will be match day tickets only, to allow for cup ties. All with no effect on WSL?

In this thread somewhere. Hospitality, lounge all going. Giving a greater depth of regular seats.

ITK’s … is that correct?
It’s on the Brighton website

“Other works planned will include the introduction of safe standing in the North Stand, taking place in 2025, which the club recently confirmed; and in 2027 the relocation of away supporters into the south-west corner of the Amex. This will be in the space currently occupied by the Heineken Lounge and associated seating – with the new away area including safe standing for visiting supporters.”

“Moving the away fans will create a new home fans area directly behind the goal at the south stand end of the stadium, and this is expected to include an additional safe standing area, subject to fan demand.”
