Is that all they are bringing? I'm still waiting to see a good away support at the Amex this season. Sheffield Wednesday brought numbers but were quiet - granted their team gave them little reason to be heard. I wonder if moving the away fans to the corner has had the desired effect from Gus's point of view.

This division has more Northern teams than it has for years, so this was bound to affect the gates really.

this...

OUT: Doncaster (North), Pompey (south), coventry (midlands), Southampton (south), Reading (south) and West Ham (south)

IN: Blackburn (grim), Bolton (grim), wolves (grim), Wednesday (grim), Huddersfield (grim) and Charlton (south)

Last season away attendances were boosted by the tick off a new ground brigade.
Charlton and Wolves will bring a few.

plus isn't there two different prices for the away end this season?

I do wish away fans were still housed behind the goal. I think this makes a big difference in terms of Atmos.

At time S Weds were visably singing/jumping etc but we just couldn't hear them in the North stand

I hope all away fans stay quiet forever! Because hopefully that will mean we're winning a lot! 3 points over a bit of atmosphere for me please!

There is still 4 days to go to the game. I fully expect the Brummies to bring about 1,500 to 2,000 on Saturday.

How? They've only sold 1000 tickets, and I think they've returned the balance, or am I getting confused?

I sit in the East (closer to away support than last year since they were shifted) and at times I could not here them either. I expect Leeds/Palace to be better vocally and possibly Forest and Charlton.

Blues have got poor away support - according to my Wednesday-supporting mate, they only had five coach-loads of fans at Hillsborough earlier this season! They've also just been thumped 5-0 at home by Barnsley - can't imagine seeing that kind of shambles again is much of an incentive.

The transport issues at the Amex don't help - If you are an away fan with a long journey back you simply want to get back - especially on the back of a defeat. I went to the away game at St. Andrews last year and was in my car and away from the ground within 5 minutes and back in Hove within 2 and a half hours. It took me over an hour and a quarter to get home to Hove from the Sheffield Wednesday game.

The lack 0f 3 PM kick offs on a Saturday doesn't help.

If I supported Birmingham, I wouldn't travel 150 miles to see a hopeless team get thrashed on a Saturday night, when I could spend my evening down the pub.

You obviously didnt go to Millwall then.

I dont think the Amex travel is an issue, the issue is away fans dont know the best ways to get to games as of yet, in 2 or 3 years teams will of adjusted to the ground and realise they need to wait or park out of town.

Its really not that hard, drinking in town first and then a 10min train ride to the amex isnt a hardship.

and away fans will hang back i believe in future, if millwall had been serving beer after the game I know I would of had one at the ground before heading off to london bridge.

Birmingham attendances are plumetting not helped by events on and off the pitch which have not helped confidence. Shame because they are a good club. Just need new owners and probably a new manager to reignite fans' belief. They played well against Bolton and the Barnsley performance isunlikely to be repeated.

To be honest I am surprised they ar e bringing as many as a thousand and I am certain that many clubs will struggle to fill the away allocation this season. Long journeys; too many midweek and late Saturday; or Sunday kick offs when money is tight. We are very fortunate to be bucking the trend.

Despite what many say I would think the poor train service and parking problems at The Amex stop quite a few as I am sure many will come once and then say not again. Do we really care if no away support turns up leaves more room for us to accommodate our own fans/JCLs.

Nail on head.
