I heard us a few times, but not as much as normal. I also wondered whether it was microphone placement, as our away support is generally good.

So many away game regulars didn’t go today, despite a decent Sunday KO time.

Four Liverpool fans in front of me today, stewards did nothing to get them out, despite actively cheering Liverpool goals. Don’t understand how people are getting banned for 10 games for passing on tickets, yet people are still managing to pass them on. I can guess exactly what happened they’ll be a 1901 member who can reallocate their tickets. Don’t worry I told him to F off, and told them I’m there every week, it’s not right that people are being penalised for passing on tickets, when people are actively giving them to opposition supporters. It isn’t right. They actively said they were Liverpool fans, then said they were ‘neutrals’ when they crowd turned on them.

Shocking. I knew you’d be there and provide an honest answer.

Really should be a long ban for passing on to opposition fans, 1901 or not.

1901 members have to put a name on their ticket and are subject to the same rules as everyone else…. The points system ensures there are no longer any advantage, and you have to put the hard yards in points wise.

I know of at least seven 1901 supporters from my lounge on 450 plus points who go to practically every away game.

My wife is has been very tolerant, with our excursions abroad, and just have to be fair sometimes

This is the issue with people shoving others out of their seats, “sitting anywhere” or even agreements among mates to move around a bit - you can’t rely on the row and seats.

Liverpool stewards should have slung them out. Disgraceful they didn’t.

The sitting anywhere is really irritating.
They could have been players comp seats as well….

Re - 1901 membership, we can invite opposition supporters to home games (but only in the 1901 area), but the said supporter is expected to behave respectfully.

If we buy tickets anywhere else in the ground they must be Brighton fans, the same applies to away games….. (see Wembley last season).

Did the people you aggressively challenged have Lancs or southern accents btw? The reason I ask is that I personally know large numbers of Arse, Spurs and Pool fans who are Albion members, even Newcastle fans along our road, just for the one Amex game per season. If southern accents, did our 3,000 allocation today go to members in the end?

I don’t think I was too aggressive haha, but they were southerners. Just find it strange you’d travel all the way up to stand in the opposite end, when you could support a local club which you have a genuine connection, anyway each to their own.

Agree, a lot of regulars I know skipped, my usual group of 10 or so, was reduced to 4.

Our so called 'Ultras' group that create the atmosphere have managed to come up with about 6 songs in 13 years.

Too many people going to away games this season in a hunt for Europa priority points.

Terrible time for football (Sunday lunch) and a shit show on the trains so less pissed up fans singing.

I thought that might be the case. Possibly Albion members who just go to two Albion games per season. An opportunity not to miss. About 15 years I thought I’d look at League Cup Final tickets on the secondary market, one time was Cardiff v Liverpool. Basically next to impossible. On Gumtree and some slick looking ticket websites they were ‘available’ at many multiple £100’s per ticket, but I smelt scams. You’d meet someone outside after paying in full weeks before …. yeah right.

For the cost of an Albion membership, a train fare and two cheap tickets, Manure, Pool and City fans in Sussex get to their club in the flesh twice a season minimum.

We had an animated scouser behind us in the FA cup last season, every time they went close, he was on his feet.

Basically, he was told to calm down (and shut the feck up!!! ).

Realistically, you know that someone is going to spontaneously celebrate if a goal is scored, so you have to suck it up. If they then continue it and it becomes disrespectful (a bit in your face) then that is when someone would/should intervene.

I had a West Ham friend come along this season, and having sat with her head in her hands for the previous two years, they went and won! Of course she shouted when they scored, but then made that stupid cross armed salute, which really irked one of my friends, and he told her off…

Personally, I thought he was more out of order than she was…. She’s 65 and was enjoying a rare victory against us…. Everything calmed down afterwards.

Not sure about this year but certainly last year it went to Albion+ Members as my neighbour got a ticket and he's a member. Most away games outside London and Bournemouth go to Members.
