I guess he wanted to get the highest possible amount of information for his research and you would want to do that through any means. He possibly could have just admitted he wasn't an AVID Brighton fan, but wanted to fully represent every championship fanbase, but I guess he felt people would be more inclined to support the project if he told a little fib.

Could be a Reading fan who is on the University of Brighton Sports Business course, and is a Seagulls supporter as well whilst he is here? If he went to a game once this season he would be a more avid supporter than some on here, who don't go to any games these days.
