Di Matteo had a poor record too. Other than the obvious.
You know, if you do Grant vs Hiddink it comes out pretty favourably in Grant's corner too.

Great manager, and really looking forward to seeing what he can do with Tottenham next season. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep Modric and who he would want to bring in.
Bet Harry is kicking the cat in anger, from hero to zero in 4 months
Why are people so keen to label him great!? He's been a manager in his own right for just 3 seasons, and never stayed in a job longer than 1. All hype and little substance so far. Porto, who knows, perhaps it was all the right players at the right time. He took over a team, then left the team.
Surely too little time in his career to judge him as a great manager!?
What are you kidding me? He is the best manager that ever, ever existed. And he will lead Spurs to title glory next season and they will become the most dominate force in world football history.

So he gets a new job just 4 months after being sacked by Chelsea with a large pay off. A newspaper report said " 'arry "was being paid monthly for up to a year or when he got another job.Looks like Levy more canny than the Russian.
What makes him a 'great' manager? He managed an incredible Porto team for 1 season, and granted they won the league and Europa League, but 1 season. He led Academia to safety, but again was there for 1 season.
He keeps talking about 'long term projects' but has never stayed in a job longer than a season. He's never played the game at any level. He is completely and utterly unproven at this point and he's getting top jobs, amazing, the only great thing he certainly has is selling himself and interview technique.
I've nothing against managers who haven't played, but normally they work their way up from lower leagues.
Jury is out, but I'll think he'll struggle.

Is this what you meant to write?
Personally I think we have to COMPLETELY ignore AVB's stint at Chelsea.
He was in a complete lose-lose situation.
Basically his remit at Chelsea was "get rid of all the oldies and win". His oldies were his best players. So by getting rid of his oldies he was causing anger as well as losing. It was IMPOSSIBLE.
RDM came in and is given the most simple remit EVER. "Just keep it ticking over till the end". He had no transfer window to manage. He just had to keep his pals happy. Now, yes, he did a BRILLIANT job and they won the CL, but he didnt have half the background work that AVB was charged with.
Now, at Spurs, AVB won't have that remit. There aren't the 'older' players to ship out. There isn't the core group of players like before (Terry, Cech, Lampard, Drogba) etc. All he needs to do is sort the Modric situation, bring in a few players and 'keep it going'. I think he'll do fine.
quite amazing end to the season for him!
