I'm gutted for Japan.

Sadly it was all too predictable. Japan can play some lovely football but they really lack a cutting edge. They always seem to want ot walk it into the net or when they do shoot it's usually wide or straight at the keeper. That was evident when they created two or three great chances to double their lead and didn't take them.

dissapointing too, was the soft nature of the equaliser and the way they had a clear penalty turned down.

Credit to the aussies though. They kept going all the game and Cahill's second was an absolute peach, worthy of winning any game.

I cannot believe no has even mentioned Cahil's disgusting tackle which should have resulted in a penalty and Japan's deserved second -and likely winner if they had got it.

Not to mention the constant studs up challenges of the aussies. I thought it was disgraceful, especially after the chairman of the JFA had raised concerns about Australia's dirty play before the game.

So much for a World Cup championing fair play...

I thought some of the tackles were a bit aggressive but it's all been seen and done before here in the UK, nothing new take a look as some recent Arsenal tackles for that matter... I think you're being a bit harsh.... I admire the passion and energy of the Aussies...nice to see...

Isn't the FA's reference to Fair Play in relation to the raciscm which keeps cropping up?

I'd rather see some passionate tackling than Equity winning acting from the usual Italian/Spanish/Portugese/Argie/Turk/Greek teams
