It's still fickle, however you dress it up. I never slagged him off. I gave him time.

So it's OK for everyone to jump on the bandwagon and give someone shit rather than think about things first?

The easy option is following the herd and being a sheep.

I'll stick with what I know, thanks.

As has been said previously, he needs to be sent to the gym to bulk up. This can probably only happen over the summer though.

Out of interest , what did you think of Webb / Gatting / Henderson ?

I find it almost as bad when people are blind to the facts

I'm not saying you are on Battipiedi, its to early to tell but I'd be very very suprised if he makes a L1 player on evidence so far.

Like they did with the youth-teamers a couple of years ago.

Hope I'm wrong, but maybe he's not up to the physical rigours of the English game?

Who can tell? I know Chric McPhee got injured while trying to bulk up and never really cam back for us.

I don't think it's a case of being blind to the facts, just the whole act of really gunning for someone. I just doesn't sit well with me.

I thought Webb was pretty poor but never slagged him off. What's the point? It doesn't achieve anything.

I actually thought Gatting would make it, initially. He struck me as the type of player who just had the knack of being in the right place at the right time. As it transpired, I think he maybe couldn't cope with everything that goes with being a pro footballer. The hustle and bustle, the crowds, the banter. He's a really shy lad. I'm probably wrong but that's how I saw it.

I assume you mean Wayne and not Darius? I rated Wayne and then he made a couple of errors.

The problem is, I don't think fans realise sometimes just how much abuse from the crowd affects players. During the 90 minutes - although it can be very difficult at times - we really do have to back every player in the stripes. A mumble to the person sitting next to you is fine, but screaming how 'shit' a player is will only have one outcome, and it's not positive.

everyone can have a opinion, football is about opinions. but what i hate is when "fans" just call players shit.

Which answers nothing to do with why you're calling people twats who don't rate him. There's a difference between calling someone shit and having an opinion they're shit isn't there. good to see you've decided to join NSC feet first :lolol:

Yeah I agree, thing is though , this is a forum so surely its ok to question ?

I may write off Battipiedi in my head but I'd never say as much at a game and he'd get my full positive support.

Of course, I agree mate.

Considered debate is constructive and interesting.

Saying someone is 'shit' is ignorant, thick, and counter-productive, whether it's on a message board or at a game.

I agree with the sentiment but I personally only say I think someone is shit compared to the standard they should be at in pro football. I wouldn't say someone like Batti was shit if he was playing in the conference for example
