Surely he'll take the hint and give up now?

If his comments after the fight are anything to go by I think he's going to knock it on the head now (thank ****).

His eyes before the fight said it all, he looked like the kid in the greenhouse in scum just before he gets bummed.

I thought he'd already retired.

Such a terrible and boring fighter - only ever interested in defending, he never seems to throw a punch which you'd have thought would be a key part of the job

Working in Sheffield at the snooker I managed to get along to the Khan fight later on (thanks to new hero Judd Trump finishing early - nice one son) but got there too late for this farce.

Deontay Wilder was however the star of the show in the aftershow party at a casino in the city centre, the bloke is an absolute beast and was getting mobbed for autographs and pictures.

There were actually better fights in the crowd than Audrey's, at least three I saw while waiting for Amir Khan to start. It is incredible the effect he has had on the public in this country. He has this incredible cross-racial appeal unmatched I would say by pretty much anyyone, with a huge number of Asians and (clearly) Muslims in the crowd. But then the tensions out there in the actual communities boil over a bit on a night like that. All the fights I saw were Asian v white. Coincidence? Possible, but unlikely. Alcohol (and IMHO maybe more than that) appeared also to be a factor.

You'd think so wouldn't you? Worth remembering that he has got form when it comes to saying he'll retire...pretty sure he's had three or four 'last shots' at this point.

Good to see fraudley beaten perhaps he will now do what he should have done ages ago and retired. The only downside of the night for me was Khan sneaking a win, hope he gets hammered again soon and also retires.

At best, Khan should never even think about getting in a ring with Mayweather, or anyone in the top four or five. He will get battered. At worst, he was lucky to get the verdict. Knocked down, and in a lot of trouble in other rounds against a very tough opponent. He must have only scraped it on some good scoring work in a few of the earlier rounds (apart from the 4th, obviously).

Two reasons for me as I think that he comes across on TV as an arrogant obnoxious horrible little man and secondly I do not think that he is anywhere near the boxing class or have the ability of the top men like Mayweather or even Hatton in his prime

Where to start? General arrogance. Loves to claim he is the next best thing without having done anything to warrant it. Looks beyond his opponents which is massively disrespectful in my book, then gets KTFO. Refuses to grant rematches to those who deserve them (Prescott, Maidaina, McLoskey), then demands his own rematches despite having literally no grounds to have them. Seems to think he deserves to share the ring with Floyd Mayweather.....

Khan stopped Victor Ortiz in his amateur days, has blurring hand speed and power Amir has the potential to be one of the best, but he is susceptible to the right hand, left hook combination combat that and he can win a world title again.

It's a shame so many people choose to have a go at Audley Harrison when we should be congratulating him for lasting over one minute in a boxing ring. Outstanding effort.

First reason I'm not going to argue with as it's a widely held opinion and I tend to agree with you, with the caveat that I tend to dislike many boxers on what they say/how they act. Haye for example, comes across as a tremendous asshat.

I'm not sure I follow your second point, to dislike a boxer for not having Mayweather's ability would imply that you dislike the vast majority of them.

I guess I just find it odd that in the thread where A-farce is getting mocked for never throwing a punch, Khan is getting similar treatment for trying but not hitting a certain bar. What exactly do you want from a boxer?
