Mix

Trojan Bob Marley Covers Mix

SingleTrack MP3

Seems almost like herecy to make a Bob Marley covers mix, but certain covers dropped like bombs in a soundsystem 'Blues party' back in the day. Delroy Wilsons cover of 'Im still waiting, for example. Memories.

Disappointed, but not surprised, that the Hastings Reggae Festival has just recently been postponed this year.

Anyone been watching the Small Axe films on BBC?

The Lovers Rock one is what brings me here.

Centered around a blues dance. Cracking music throughout, climaxing with several rewinds and come agains of K unta Kinte Dub. Had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up with that one. Put me in mind of seeing the film Babylon all those years ago and the classic Jah Shaka and Warrior Charge moments.

Well worth a watch

One year on, and it's going ahead on 31st July. Anyone else going? We have tickets but still slightly in two minds about attending.

I won't be going near crowds for a good while. But then I've never actually been to this event anyway, funnily enough.

Spent all of my youth going to roots reggae concerts in London and Brighton and various other places. Loved it back in the day, but feel like it's almost better not to go back, as it'll never quite be the same again.

If you do decide to go. Hope you have a great time.

I have this dilemma with gigs . . .

I've had mine, happy to be doing a festival gig ( smallish, 500 people, outdoors and camping) but with the great unwashed allowed to go nuts, the prospect of a sweaty hot heaving pub next month fills me with dread. . . .

my sister in law is in hospital, not well at all , no jabs . . . . silly. 2 of the group that met up the evening they think they got it have been mildly unwell, and have been double jabbed. . . .
