I think 'Miss Molly' did a cracking job of it. She let Blacker and his community shine through and tell their story, asking all the right questions in all the right places. I hope Blacker does finally get to go 'back a yard' and find that feeling of belonging he's clearly looking for.

And yes, Brian/Naphtali is some character alright!

Real shame, the difference according to Blacker, between how a white man in Jamaica is treated and a black man in England. The abuse he lived through in England doesn't bear thinking about. Right through his life. His stories were horrible. There's obviously a lot, lot more way to go before racism disappears, if ever. The stuff (as Blacker mentioned), swept under the carpet will just get thicker and thicker until there's no room left. Then what happens? Still, there's a lot of us doing our bit to counteract the idiocy of a powerful minority.
Blimey. I'm getting all serious and political. A first from me. I normally just post stuff to hopefully make people giggle!

I remember buying his LP "Natty Passing Thru", as if it was yesterday, rather than forty years ago! There was a little record shop just up from Brighton's clock-tower, on the left hand side. It may have been Virgin in its infancy?

Ha! Virgin was right on the corner where Boots is now. I spent many an hour there as a spotty long haired yoof. I have a funny story about my mum returning a Black Sabbath LP present that jumped. She didn't like it in there
