Attila on the wireless, solving the world's financial crisis

A dreary old soap dodging git,
Believed that his rhymes were a hit.
But his lyrics were poor,
On Radio 4,
And his knowledge of finance was shit.

No doubt inspired by that other great socialist Billy Bragg who lives in a £6 million house in.

Isn't he allowed to buy a house with his money if he's a socialist? He sold his place in London and moved to Devon, since then he's been raising money for local charities. What a bad man
£6mill is probably tripling the price of it too.

Rubbish effort. That doesn't even rhyme.

Ok let's have a go then

There once was a young city banker,

No crap at these.

Ok let me see if I can help...

There once was a young City banker,
For his blood those lefties did hanker.
But he worked night and day,
So his taxes could pay,
For their dole without even a thank ya.

The is an old man from Shoreham-On-Sea,
Who pays twice for his AMEX train journey,
His own trip it covers,
As well as that of others,
Such a unselfish gesture makes him a lefty.

Yeah, we really should be thanking City bankers right now shouldn't we.........

You think this country would be better off without the jobs, tax revenue and foreign earnings created by our banking sector?

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money”.

Anyway, if you want to carp further please do so in rhyme or on another thread.

Sir John Gieve is actually the former deputy governor of the Bank of England - he had the brains to get out before all the recent shit hit the fan. I remember him when he was plain John, and my central defensive partner in my college team. Arsenal fan.

As if those are the choices.

Doff your cap
To the man in the topper
He don't give a f***

Well it almost rhymed.

I certainly think it would be an interesting experiment to see if all the bankers would make good on their threats to leave if we did anything about their preposterous bonuses - and then whether it made any difference to the country. Perhaps we'd find some equally talented people who might do the job for a bit less.

I remember Phil Collins "threatened" to leave the country if a Labour government was elected in 1997, because, despite being the writer of "Another Day in Paradise," he didn't see why his massive earnings should be taxed to help pay for, oh, I don't know - extra care for the homeless? Anyway, he was as good as his word, and in my opinion it was a massive improvement to have the hypocritical, tuneless bald git annoying the Swiss instead of us.

In the year twenty twelve, there are few sadder sights
Than a Seventies punk, hosting punk and ale nights

Pushing real ale and ska, and more dated shit
Is the people's punk poet a sad hypocrite?

He might drone on the rights of the great rank and file
Hiding his past, at the trough of the square mile.

Border country.East Preston.
London once hosted types for their banking,
The country's coffers had much to be thanking,
But the Prime Minister crumbled when the papers cried "rumbled",
So off they did run, when regulation begun,
The IMF said "no growth"!
We slumped in a trough
And now there's time for more wanking.

There once was a young city banker,
Who created a mess and a rancour,
His soul he did sell,
When creating this hell,
And the world shouted, oh what a wanker.

Better than Hansy,s piss poor effort.

So what you are saying is:

For you it will only get more rough,
If we take our noses out of the trough.

(that "you" is the relevanr bankers and not you my old mucker by the way)
