Just seen this on another thread in another place

Someone suggested that this may be a result of so many matches from the lower leagues shown on sky

Look at the attendance

Apologies to be "That bloke" but the league one game today was Bolton v Wrexham for which the best part of 26,000 turned up. Very tidy.

The Notts county attendance is misprinted on BBC and Flash score amongst others but is it's definitely 10k plus. The office junior missed a zero.

On the Border
An example of where fact checking is important, to avoid misleading headlines.

257 away fans within an attendance of 10,057

So the extra live games before shown having a real impact.

I can't imagine showing games on TV could have much of an effect in 2024. Everyone owns a computer or phone, everyone can watch every game for free. People don't go to games to watch football, they go to experience it. If it was the "watching" part that matters, you'll in 90% of the cases get a worse seat, worse view, worse snacks and worse food than you'd get at home, but that doesn't stop stadiums from being filled or nearly filled every week.
