I came from Bournemouth last night and will do on Tuesday - left work at 4pm , got the very last space in the University park and ride at 7.10 and arrived at 7.35 in the ground. Will leave 3.45 on Tuesday as cut it fine too much. Just need to leave home earlier or work earlier, take PM off work etc , for such important games?

Delayed kick offs seem to muck the game up. Seen this happen a few times not just with us but other games as well. Players are primed to go at a certain time and the delay seems to knock everyone out of their stride.

it would have helped last night then.
There would only have been 15 rather than 30 minutes of Fulham domination.
Might have won by 7 or 8!

Not at all. Still plenty left in most stands. Suspect the north and WSU will be close to a sell out.

Don't think the club will need to make any additional south stand blocks available.

This could be another pivotal night in our season. It would be good to see as many as possible there

You could be right. There only seem to be single seats available for the derby match.

This is a good point. Doesn't even need Southern's co-operation really, just send someone down there with a mobile to eyeball the queue and keep an ear out for announcements etc...

Only Southern Railway would have known that the trains were late. Queues had been as long before and verybody got there on time.

I'm puzzled how a few empty seats seems like life or death for some people, I'll have an empty seat next to me, my son is 6 so doesn't do night matches, I happily give up his U10 st for the night if some one can use it but I'll be proper pissed and no doubt irresponsible

Aside from the train issues, Mill Road P&R has major issues, yet the problem gets worse by the week.

Really? I use it every game and apart from the odd 30min wait at peak time (approx 1 hour before kick off) i have not had a significant problem. Probably the most reliable means of getting to the ground and back IMHO

Mill Road is a joke , there seem to be less buses running before the match , queues are getting bigger and bigger ,Friday nite was chaos

Unfortunately the clubs transport manager can do very little about 1,500 fans being stuck at Brighton train station if he is only informed of the issue at 7:28pm. We couldn't have delayed kick-off at such a late stage.

As stated in the press release if they had known earlier kick-off could've been delayed to accommodate

There were warnings loud & clear on Twitter from around 6.30 and the club use that medium to advise on p&r's filling-up so were monitoring & aware but seemingly Iinsufficiently proactive.

I am not someone who engages in or enjoys knocking the club but with travel being such a major element of their match day offer (uniquely in the way it is incorporated) they need to be better than they are at identifying and reacting to problems

The post-match west coastway service certainly needs to be looked at. As per most people's advice, we hung around after the game to avoid the queues at Falmer station and got back to Brighton in plenty of time for the 23:13 - which is the last train going further west than Worthing. However, the gates had been closed and we weren't allowed to join it (advised that the THREE CARRIAGE train was full) so ended up on a later train to Worthing and a £30 onwards taxi fare home. Didn't exactly ruin the night, but I can see how occasional fans might be put off returning.

Not only fans they won't let on. Ordinary passengers arriving 20 minutes before to get the last train for Chichester.

The 3 carriage train was very full though as the two previous trains did not run. Every bit as full as the Brighton to Falmer trains, or even more so.

It meant waiting for another 45 minutes in a queue though. If I went for a pint and missed the queue I've found that they close the gates before the train leaves.

They were in contact with Brighton train station and informed that although a delay all supporters would be at the stadium by 7:45.

This message changed at 7:28 when Brighton station work out they wouldn't manage to clear their platform. Unfortunately too late for the club to do anything about it

Unfortunately delaying kickoff doesn't mean the railway runs extra late night trains after the normal timetable.

I'd rather miss the beginning of a game than have to fire drill it off early and miss the end.

Quite, it was a nightmare for train users when ko was delayed because the seagulls travel buses got stuck.
