Attendance Gate?

With the attendance on Friday given as 26500 (according to the BBC highlights) have we changed our minds about quoting tickets sold? Considering the match sold out and Wednesday :lolol: Brought down 2000 more than Cardiff, I was expecting a figure of close to 28000 to be announced.

Has the club said anything?

The capacity is only 27350. Weds sold 1600 out of about 2000, take away a few hundred more to account for segregation and the gate sounds about right for tickets sold.

Isn't capacity about 27500? If so then there's the segregation zone which looks to be about 2/300 so the difference would be 600 empty seats in the away area which looked about right ... so No I don't reckon they have

Capacity 28.5 k ?
Had to edit this as I see what you mean. Should have been about 27.3 if they are using the seats sold counting method.I suspect capacity is not 28.5 yet.

I don't know for definite what our capacity is but then no one seems quite sure, the announcer (forgotten his name) before the Cardiff game suggested it was over 28000, which is why I said I was expecting the figure announced to be not far short of 28000.

Wednesday brought down just over 1,600 I think.

Problem is that I don't think we will ever get a full house whatever the capacity is. Just before the Sheffield Wednesday game kicked off I counted the number of seats blanked off each side of their fans where the stewards sit.

Although only a rough guess I reckon it must be about 300 at least which makes me wonder if we will ever get over 30k even when we have the place finally built.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Club (maybe in the context of the transport management plan?) has stated the official capacity will be 30750 (actual seats inside the Amex) but will never ever be achieved in practice because of segregation the realistic maximum will be 30k. So at least we should reach the magic 30k.

It feels quite special that we are currently top of the Championship crowd averages. Wind the clock back only 3 or 4 years and an average of 25.5k would have seemed a bit far fetched, especially as we hadn't even got a 22k stadium. Amazing.

After we played at Smellhurst last season Balcombe revealed the true attendance a few days later - any chance of that happening at the AMEX?
