So do we aspire to compare ourselves with those who have won just one game or eight games. Whilst I understand that financially we want to stay in the PL, it would also be good if we were to see some progression in what we do, setting up defensively and continually losing is not progress.

We’re much with the clubs in the relegation battle at the moment. Look at the glaring deficiencies in the squad in midfield creativity, ball retention and strikers bar Glenn. We haven’t gone down the road of Wolves, West Ham and Bmuff (Lerma) of spending mega money in fees and wages on the finished articles of top international midfielders.

CH is making the best of the resources to hand.

It's true that he didn't really find his 'levels' of last season, but he really didn't play that much before getting injured. Poor against Watford (wasn't everyone), good against United, came on late against Liverpool and did well (although could have been more incisive with that finish), injured and kept on for too long against Fulham.
Opponents will have plans for him after what he achieved last season. He's clever enough to know this and to identify ways of counteracting this.

Bet they haven't worked out how to not fall for his Cruyff turn yet!

I too want to see Gross and Propper back in the team/match day squad. But let's remember that Gross has been far more effective at home than away [the same goes for Murray]. So, it will take a change of set up and tactics away from home, whoever are in the team selection.

£110m is a lot of money, reckon the recruitment could have done better.

Can’t win them all.

In each transfer window almost every PL club is looking for that proven top flight quality 15 goals a season striker and also PL quality‘game changers’ in midfield. We’re competing against clubs such as Bmuff, Palace, Wolves, West Ham and Leicester, all willing to pay 2 or 3 times our level of wages, as well writing out single player transfer fee cheques for £20m to £30m.

We can see how £110m on squad building over 3 windows, has its limits.

Two things:-

1 - How do you know the recruitment wasn't very good?
&
B - If it was how do you know CH would have played those fellas?

At the next forum, with TB, PB and CH on the stage, someone in the audience needs to raise that precise point. Rather than making the comment to NSC'ers who have no control and merely offer opinions.

I've got a feeling that no one would have the courage.
