here and there

Who attacks a child officiating a child’s match?!
They didn't, they attacked an adult who was overseeing another match.

Given that the 29yr old threatened the young ref and then punched the older ref you have to wonder why the FA decided to rescind the banning order applied, they subsequently determined that it was excessive.....

The conclusion here is that the FA is shit.

'The 29-year-old had been watching his stepson play and became angry when the boy was substituted.'

That story looks like it needs a bit more context, because the way it's written sounds like Sears needs to be complaining (or not, because, y'know, it's kids bloody football) to the manager/coach – not the referee!

Anyway, awful behaviour. He should be banned from the game for a long period of time.

In rugby, whether at under 7 or international level, players must address the referee as Sir. Only the captains can approach the referee during a game. Any breach results in immediate sanction. Respect for match officials is thus embedded.
For reasons i cannot fathom, the FA do not want football match officials to treated with respect.

My bad, though not the most clearly written news article ever! Shocking all the same.

Presumably they'll be appealing the Leeds fan who got 6 year banning order( and 12 weeks prison) for a gentle shove of Eddie Howe.

I sometimes think the hidden agenda is that some games are so boring (if we're not playing) that the FA know the only drama is an altercation between players and/or the ref...
