Fair point. Put more bluntly - as away fans we get treated like second class citizens when we go away
(Newcastle, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Brentford and Spurs being the most notable). We should do the same.
Brentford and Newcastle aside as I've not been, so can't comment, I don't know what you mean.
I've had great seats and been treated well at all the other grounds.

In terms of where we are located in their grounds. No problem with the staff/stewards at
any grounds.

I think about 4 clubs have ok to good atmospheres in EPL, the rest are like us noise wise. I've noticed away support of teams visiting The Amex get worse each year as well. Man City were shit yesterday, Arsenal were shit. It's modern EPL football! Near every club sings different lyrics to the same songs as well.

And the one I always bang on about: we should move the away fans so they're not on the main camera angle. Places like Palace and Newcastle you don't see the away fans unless the camera is specifically showing them. It's a little thing but helps with the subconscious perception of those watching.

They seemed to have that one chant that went City City mumble mumble. That really ended up annoying me.

To be fair I didn't recognise half of the fans around me last night, so many tourists there which was made very clear with the oooohhhs when the fire cannons started before kick off. It actually felt like a 3rd round cup match when most regulars don't bother with
In the north stand I was able to have a pint at half time and go for a piss - even had time to get a second pint before the match restarted as there were no queues.

The inevitability of the result was clearly the reason why the atmosphere was not there last night.

and 3 down after 30 mins topped it off.

no side will cope with the injury list we have had all season.

At the start of the season we could not find a fullback, and now we cant find a winger and midfield !

We have totally run out of steam mentally imo. And sat mid table with nothing to play for.

This.

From my SEAT in the STADIUM (not couch) I thought the atmosphere was ok considering. Especially the Great Escape tune for almost the last 15 mins continuously. Plus the reactions from the fans at the Pedro 'dive' (as obviously he wasn't fouled), shows that the fans we're invested in the game.

Yes there's been better atmospheres, but 3 and 4-0 down with a complete c-nut of a ref, against the best team in the EPL for the last 5 years which cost a gazillion to put together in a corrupt and illegal (allegedly) manner, I thought it was ok.

If you didn't like it, I suggest you get off your arse, put down your warm cocoa and remote, brave the cold wet and transport and go to the game and SING.

Much like all the empty seats...

When manure come we sing that song about the fans living around the corner - we should have sang that last night, every citeh fan I saw did not sound like they have ever been to the Manchester.

(The one exception was the guy in the train queue who ho kicked down the barrier to get on the train before the match, he was definitely manc (rank manc 😂))

Sussex but not by the sea
Back in the championship days I'm sure that the catering used to stop selling alcohol about 10-15 mins before KO? This appears to have stopped. I was running late last night and had missed dinner so tried to grab a pie at about 19.57 as I ran into the stadium, only 2 people in front of me..... he ordered 2 pints and she had 2 glasses of wine!!!!!!!!!
They must have missed a good 15 mins of the match. Why would you spend on a match ticket and then do this? Why do the club allow this?

Must admit I have heard that 100's of times but haven't a clue what the words after City are - same as the Chelsea walk out song when they chant something that I haven't a clue

As a general point, any shoddy treatment away fans suffer and complain about be it at home or in Europe will always continue unless someone is prepared to break the cycle and do things differently and for the better.

Which are two of the best away games for home atmosphere
Sheffield United?? I'll give you Forest since they got promoted (but it wasn't long ago they were getting 18/19k in the championship and its hardly uncommon for a team getting promoted to suddenly have a buoyant atmosphere - see also Luton this season), but Sheffield utd has always been bang average at best

I'd love it if we were actually called out for it.

What nonsense did RDZ come out with this pre game presser?

'i love evening kick offs and clearly the fans do too because of the atmosphere'.

Bollox.
Because Potter picking on the fans went really well?

My controversial theory … it’s 90% about a team being in a good place, a club on the up. Leeds fans are the one exception, in 20 years of dross, I was surprised how noisy and passionate they were, almost turning the sh1tness into an ironic motivation.

The Amex has been poor for many months in the PL, good intentions for 10 minutes, then a realisation that we’ve notably declined on the pitch. Little reason to get out of your chair whilst you watch an ever growing list of opposing managers who have our number. The Amex was quality last season, now a morgue.

OT, Olympic Stadium, WHL, Emirates, SJP were all toxic or dead for many recent years. Then they spend huge, Ratcliffe buys a chunk, a stadium rebuild, bought by a petro state, win home games …. and hey presto …. new flags, fans marching to home games, media talk that they’re greatest supporters on the planet :lolol: :wanker:

agree but that our 3k North still should have enough about it to create a noise. It's more to do with the self conscious middle class types that are in there. These same types that stare at others if they dare to make any noise.

There are enough in there that want to make a noise but there are an equal number that don't

Same in WSU

Watched on TV last night , couldnt hear Albion fans but City sounded decent
How do you know what’s happening in the WSU from watching on tv?
City sounded decent because they were winning

It's grim oop north
3 things would make a huge beneficial difference IMO;

1. Move the away end next to the north (works well at most other ground to create atmosphere - esp places like derby)
2. Extend the North stand so its more banked with more capacity
3. Let us keep our bottle tops !!
