Gutted I missed it, but I've said it before & I'll say it again; we look a different team in night games at Withdean.....& the atmosphere....well you normally get one at night time.

T'was certainly good to hear noise from all sides of the Withers last night rather than just the South stand.

Must admit, I didn't believe an atmosphere like that was possible at Withdean. Up there with Chesterfield, and (from friends who were there) Swindon. But of course, 2,000 more in there.

Among many great memories of last night was just seeing from the South the packed stands behind the goal going mental and leaping around after the Kuipers save and the Richards winning pen.

Just shows that creating an atmosphere at Withdean can be done and is a two-way thing-give the crowd something to get excited about and they respond and when we make a noise like last night the players raise their game. Let's hope it continues.

The East stands were great last night. Only one slight niggle, a bunch of pissed up cretins were there, 6 or 7 of them, early 20s, dressed in "My First Hoodies" "Mothercare Stone Island" and "Junior Burberry", mouthing off, swearing, refusing to sit, when there were oldies, and little 'uns behind them, generally being arses.

One had a megaphone, but really he could hardly string 2 words together, the best he could come up with was "Schmiecial, you're f***ing Shit", classy (oh, that's 4 words)

2 got chucked out to cheers and taunts of "Going home to your Mummy" not that they would have got that.

And the thing was, every time they tried to "sing" a Brighton song they got the words wrong, the internation wrong, the tune wrong, embarrasing really. Now I have imbibed a drink or two before a Brighton game in the past, but I have never forgotton the words to "We are Brighton, Super Brighton, from the South" or "Albion Albion Albion, Albion Albion Albi-o-on, Albion Albion Albion, AL BE ON"

It was abundantly clear that they had never been to Withdean, even heard one of them shouting at a steward, "what do you mean, you can't smoke anywhere in here?" then a bunch of expletives.

Oh well, I certainly don't expect to ever see them again, don't recall ever seeing them at an away game either, where do they crawl out from?

Apart form that, well done to the guy behind me who chose exactly the same taunt to Schmiecal for each penalty, "Oi Schmiecal, your Dad has the reddest nose in the whole World" it was him who won it for us!

Cheers, I've no doubt she will and she'll love telling them all about being on the pitch @ the end as well. I've dreamed of the day she'd wake up with a sore throat after watching the Super Seagulls, and she can now also revel in having Albion as her middle name....

Without doubt, that was the best atmosphere EVER at Withdean last night. For the first time ever, it felt like a football ground.

Loved the guys with the megaphone in front of us in W block shouting at Schmeichel through it until it got confiscated!
