A v Swindon LOST 3-0
A v Hull City LOST 1-0
H v Cardiff DRAW 0-0

No goals scored in 270 minutes of fooball.

Palace lost the first 3 league games last season.

Anyone would think from the reaction to out first 3 games that the season is over!

Hull and Cardiff were top 2 and were expected to be up there . Leeds and derby are top half sides at best .
Seem to remember playing well particularly Cardiff home . The biggest concern is the lack of og style starting to show .

Fair point though and we will be ok

We'll be fine. If we're flirting with the bottom three around Christmas maybe i'll start to worry but I think people just expect too much. People need to view this as a transitional season and see finishing in the top six a huge achievement not a near certainty or a right based on last year.

As ever, it's just the usual few bellends, along with those specific posters of an uncertain temperament, who are prone to becoming overemotional at the slighest provocation who are currently acting the doommongers. It's just that they post more than everyone else so it looks liike the world is about to end.

These people are also confusing a maelstrom of issues in their own minds (our results, the influence of Gus, the inpetitude of our board, the quality of the catering, their own flaccid impotence) and getting themselves a bit het up. over the whole thing.

Everyone else is cool, and realises it's early days.

The fact of the matter is that the side looked disorganised against Derby, not uncompetitive - if it was both uncompetitive and disorganised I'd be worried. Lets hope Oscar gets the team organised quickly.

This.

Too many bed wetters on this forum who want over night success, well its not going to happen.

We will not get relegated and as mentioned above its a transitional season. We are preparing for FFP and yes its frustrating now but when other teams are getting transfer embargoes and we get their cash for the fine's they will recieve for not complying we will have an advantage. I dont know any other teams that are taking FFP seriously and can see other teams still spending like it dont matter chasing the dream of the PL. I would rather be in our postion now then risk everything to get to the PL and bust.

This is going to be a rolla costa so get your ticket for the ride and wait patiently in the que.

Agree with all of the above.

The elephant in the room might still be missing out in the play offs when we had possibly our best chance of promotion for many years. A lot of people are still pretty raw from that.

Add the feeling that clubs coming down each year from now on will be richer than ever before thanks to Sky money - thus making the Championship an even tougher division - and you can see why those with hair triggers could be spouting off at the slightest provocation.

Very well put. It is ridiculous to be doom-mongering at this stage, but there are some on here who seem to have absolutely no sense of perspective.
Palace (boo! hiss! etc) lost their first 3 league games last season, and were bundled out of the League Cup by lower league opposition (Preston). Anyone remember what happened to them?

The "Argus" carries regular adverts featuring a young man looking worried over not being able to achieve an erection. Is he an Albion fan?

Circumstances have contrived to mean that currently we are a work in progress, and have approached the season half cocked. We have to accept that these next few weeks could be a bit tricky but also have belief that it will turn around and we can start to progress for the better. It's not the time for hand wringing or finger pointing but getting behind the team.

When it all comes out in the wash we'll be fine this Season and once OGJ has got his feet under the table we can start to progress in a more positive fashion and be better for it, not in the negative dictatorial way that happened with Poyet.

Excellent post, and considering the way we have played on other days we could easily be sitting pretty with 3 wins from 3. It will click, we need that first result, and then we'll be fine.

This demand for instant gratification is a reflection of modern football (as well as the influence of the internet).

How long was Barry Lloyd in charge at the Albion, despite several seasons of dismal football in amongst a promotion & a near miss? He'd never get that sort of time now, thanks to the moaners. The entire management structure has changed, and inevitably it's going to take players a while to get used to that. Give them a break, FFS.
