Huddersfield looked good last night attacking the attack specialists away from home ( admittedly the highlights) still going for the Wolves when one nil up, no one is safe no one is doomed
I watched the whole game. Wolves were, as the were against us, naive. Even Huddersfield (who attack more than us but are Not Very Good) out thought them. People have sussed Wolves out, now.
As for Huddersfield, gung ho and not afraid to put in the boot and the Australian looked decent but lots of shocking misses and attacks that fizzled out. Their big lump up front is giving Benteke a run for his money in the big lump stakes.
Stand firm and play smart we will beat them. Sit back and . . . . . .

It’s not time to hit the panic button yet but there aren’t many other teams playing as poorly as we are at the moment. Yes, we’ve had some great defensive performances but I can’t remember when we last played really well. Man United? Even with our relatively healthy points tally, we could easily still go down from here. If some of the current first team aren’t delivering, I wonder if Hughton will re-think “a quiet” window? Perhaps it’s time to “freshen” things up a bit with one or two new players?
We have a big week coming up with 3 games in 7 days starting at Huddersfield, the team needs to get its act together or we could be in for a very difficult December.

Yes, I do believe that we are most definitely "TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN".
We are in a relegation scrap. Teams around us are picking up points now. We're letting points slip. We carry virtually zero goal threat, and the absence of a plan 'B' makes us probably the most predictable outfit in the division. It's going to be a long hard season.

Interestingly our three game form (LLD) places us outside the relegation zone (15th) by virtue of GD.

Aye, but it didn’t end well.
Yes we were brilliant first half. Some of the gross , propper interplay was immense. People have forgotten that due to the worst half of football of the season in the second!!

bottom half of the table is a fight for survival. we're not too good to go down, but we are good enough to stay up.
A clumsy challenge by the iceberg but you'd have to say the Titanic went down far too easily.

I don't think anyone is that stupid.
I am confident we are good enough to still be playing in the Premier League next season, but I will still be mightily relieved when we are mathematically safe. There have been far too many instances over the years of clubs starting off well and then going in to a terminal slide...…….
What gets me is the seeming assumption from some on here that if we had a better manager who was more attack minded we would be challenging for the top four.

We certainly have enough technical quality to stay up, but have we got the leadership on the field?
Dunk and Duffy lead by example, throwing themselves in front of shots, although that didn't seem to have rubbed off an the players standing watching them as Cardiff scored their winner. Bruno exudes calm and organises the defence.
But who issues a bollocking when a teammate isn't doing the business? Who reminds Jose that he's allowed to pass instead of shoot? Who calms everyone down when we're under the cosh and keeps them trying to pass the ball rather than wellying it anywhere in blind panic? Who's prepared to make himself a bit unpopular with his teammates to make sure we get a result? Fist-shaking is seen as old-fashioned and too British in some quarters these days but I think anyone who has played at any level would agree that there's a place for it at the right moment
Mullery always used to say that Brian Horton was his manager on the field, but who is CH's? Ryan maybe, as Stockdale was, but his position limits his effectiveness there. Duffy? Perhaps Sidwell was the nearest thing before his injuries...

Very good point...we don’t have a midfield general........Murray shouts at team mates (wingers) a lot for not delivering a decent cross/pass and Knocky throws regular strops when teammates don’t pass to him but we don’t really have a leader in the middle.

Southampton appear awful, but they could sack Hughes and reinforce in January.
